Each team presented on their Q2 results, reflecting on achievements and learnings. Happy Birthday O My Bag! 🎂 Follow along as Paulien Wesselink reflects on how it all started in an interview with POM Amsterdam 💬 "I've always had a love for bags. To me, a bag is a ‘happy purchase’ that you carry every day. I think I inherited that from my mother. After studying International Relations and History, I went to New York - the city of possibilities but something felt missing. With my study background, I could have taken a different path, but pursuing entrepreneurship felt right. I wanted to promote fair trade and responsible entrepreneurship. Why? Because fair trade can bring about social change. People can lead better lives when they have equal access to the global market. Together with a friend, we decided to start our own business, and O My Bag was born. The first trip to India was spontaneous. We simply searched for fair trade producers online, visited them, and had samples made. On the sample photos, we would scribble in pen what we wanted to change, which led to designing our first bag! It's fun to look back and see how much we've grown since then. Producing bags in India provides employment and economic opportunities to local communities, especially to artisans and workers from disadvantaged areas. O My Bag Amsterdam heeft een nieuwe collectie in samenwerking met schrijfster en actrice Sanne Vogel gelanceerd. Het resultaat - de Sanne Belt Bag - is een vegan taille tas in drie verschillende kleuren; zwart, navy & cognac, die ze zelf nog in haar kledingkast miste. Sanne nam met het O My Bag-designteam plaats achter de tekentafel en samen maakten ze voor de designs gebruik van Uppeal™, een veganistisch materiaal gemaakt van appelafval. Voor dit biobased materiaal wordt gebruik gemaakt van restafval uit de fruitindustrie. Als PR-bureau hebben wij voor deze lancering een uitgebreide PR-campagne opgezet en de gastenlijst voor een heerlijke lunch bij Mediamatic verzorgd.
