Thrilled to share my wonderful experience representing #DSMBiomedical, a DSM-Firmenich company, at the #MOSA Conference at Maastricht University! 🌟 At the conference, we dove deep into the exciting world of connected health. It was inspiring to engage with brilliant minds, discussing innovative solutions to real-world problems in healthcare. 📢 Exciting Day at the MOSA Symposium! Yesterday , I had the pleasure of presenting at the poster event for the Master's in Biomedical Sciences from Hasselt University and Maastricht University. 🏫 💡 My talk focused on the incredible potential of big data and AI in healthcare and life sciences. I discussed the main challenges hindering this potential and the pivotal role recent graduates will play in overcoming these obstacles. 🚀 🌐 #SharingIsCaring - link to my slides: https://lnkd.in/eCCEaHyv 🔔 #NewsFlash - A team of experts, facilitated by the talented Nele Claes, PhD, has been working on developing a comprehensive learning framework to be incorporated into the bachelor and master program of biomedical sciences to equip students with essential data science skills. Core Learning Goals: 🧠📊Data Collection: Students will learn to draft protocols considering legislation and ethical aspects, including GDPR compliance and informed consent. 🧠📊Data Management and Use: Understanding various data collections and databases, both relational and non-relational, and performing data normalization and quality control. 🧠📊Data Analysis and Interpretation: Systematically preparing, analyzing, and reporting data using statistical software and programming languages, with a focus on open and reproducible research. Implementation Plan: 🚀Gradual introduction with small changes starting in 2024-2025 and major adaptations by 2025-2026. 📅 🚀 Reinforce learning, such as R programming, data visualization, and statistical analysis in real-world scenarios. Students will gain hands-on experience with statistical software, programming languages, and data analysis workflows. They'll also learn to work with multiple types of biomedical datasets, ensuring they're well-prepared for the future of medical science.
