As leader of Work Package 2, GazoTech's main objective is to develop and provide the detailed design of the pilot gasification plant to be implemented at the demonstration site, based on the specifications established in the first Work Package.

As WP1 leader, Technip Energies - Paris is mainly involved in defining the target specifications for the integrated system and identifying technical and regulatory constraints. This partner is also involved in coordinating the project.

As an important partner for WP5 on integration and implementation in the demonstration site, Technip Energies - Rome is responsible for the detailed design of the system and for the procurement of the whole METHAREN system.

As coordinator, this partner's main role is to ensure that all the objectives, milestones and deliverables are achieved within the set timeframe, in order to guarantee appropriate reporting to the European Commission. EPFL participated early June in the #ESCAPE34-PSE24 European symposium Symposium on Computer Aided Process Engineering and International Symposium on Process Systems Engineering in Florence, Italy. In the event, EPFL had the opportunity to present the work entitled "Enhanced sustainable natural gas production using biomass biodigestion and gasification integrated with solid oxide electrolysis cell." As part of the contribution of the Industrial Process and Energy Systems Engineering group from EPFL to the #METHAREN project, it has been a great opportunity to show and discuss our work on #biomethane production technologies. Harvest renewable electricity to boost biomethane production helps capitalizing on the biogenic CO2 produced from biological and thermochemical biomass conversion routes. The academic and industrial exchanges with the community have been very enriching!

ℹ️ Our third METHAREN consortium meeting took place on 26 and 27 March at Technip Energies in Roma. This gave us the opportunity to discuss progress within the various Work Packages of the project, as well as the next key stages.  The next few months of the project will be busy, and we'll keep you informed of progress.

Our Secretary General, Tim Hamers is present today at Bio360 Expo talking on the potential development of a #BiogenicCO2 certification and implicitly, a potential market. 📃 ❓️Crucial questions are to be answered, such as who can issue such certificates? Who will audit facilities? or how would such issued certificates be traded? These are some of the questions that Tim will try to answer together with the audience, also taking into account our experience in the development and running of our CoO Scheme that currently allows the cross-border trade of biomethane certificates in #Europe. 🌎
