Yesterday LISI co-founders and co-creators Gabriel, Maurits and Raluca held a half-day workshop for Oost NL, one of the regional Dutch investment funds, about integrating #impact into #legal documentation and #investment processes. The team at Oost NL is committed to broadening and enhancing their investment scope by exploring #missioncentric governance models like #stewardownership and strengthening the impact anchors in their investment deals. With a common mission in mind - accelerating the transition to a sustainable society and the Impact Term Sheet as our guiding point, we discussed: 🔹 How to create a shared vision that follows from the company's mission and the investor's mission. 🔹How to anchor LISI's Investment Guiding Principles inspired by #Vested and build a balanced relationship to ensure a fair distribution of risks and rewards. 🔹The different levels and forms of mission locks to prevent company mission drift. 🔹How to use other impact anchors and mission safeguards in investment documentation. We also discussed our Steward Ownership Module, different possible variations, challenges and opportunities for both investors and investees. We aim to inspire as many investors as possible to bring their legal terms in line with the impact they want to make. Time flies when you’re busy transforming the investment space! Nearly two weeks ago, the LISI team led a workshop about creating an impact anchoring framework for investment deals at the latest Dutch Legal Design Lab event. You can download them here: https://lnkd.in/e479ER77 We’re excited to today launch a new tool from Equality Impact Investing & Bates Wells that aims to address power imbalances between impact investors and their investees arising from current practices on investment terms, legal documents and processes. Our Equalising Deal Terms Key Investor Principles (the EDT Principles) support impact investors, investees and their legal advisers towards increasing equality and equity in their legal processes and practices.
