A great encouragement on our journey to bring vela®, the reusable vacuum pump to market around the world. Saving lives, and the planet! 🌍 "As a medical company it is of course wonderful to be able to learn from Philips,” Thom Weustink our co-founder said. “In the run-up to this final we had very valuable discussions. Philips is really willing to think along. That's why I asked Mr. Jakobs at the end of my pitch if he would like to continue his support with us." This week, our co-founder Dieuwertje Drexhage had the opportunity to share our mission with fellow healthcare enthusiasts at the World Health Assembly in Geneva. As part of the Health Innovation Exchange - HIEx, we connected with inspiring innovators, mission-driven investors, and dedicated healthcare policymakers and organisations, all united by a passion for improving access to sustainable healthcare. We are humbled by the opportunity to join this event, and we look forward to meeting again next year!

Today marks the International Day to End Obstetric Fistula, a moment to raise awareness about a pressing issue affecting over 2 million women worldwide 👩🌎 #ObstetricFistula is a maternal condition caused by the inaccessibility to timely quality healthcare during prolonged and obstructed labor. This condition brings profound physical, emotional, and socioeconomic challenges to the women affected. Surgery remains their sole treatment option. At LAYCO, we are committed to breaking the cycle of obstetric fistula with vela®, our innovative solution designed for global use and aimed at preventing this devastating condition.
