𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻 | 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗮 🩹 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 Healing_scars BEELDENregen 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘶𝘮𝘢 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵. 🔍 From 9 July 'till 4 August, the effects of trauma - as they are subjectively experienced - will be discussed, researched and depicted in Kunstpodium T by the artists ad marijnissen, Bastiaan Johannes Hindriks, Dauji Boschma, Martin Peulen and copywriter Stan de Laat. Their work space and exhibition is open to visitors on 12, 13 and 14 July and 2, 3 and 4 August from 13-17h. Each of us carries some trauma with us. This does not necessarily have to be something intense, because even something seemingly trivial can have a major impact. It is important that after such an experience you enter into a process of healing. By not pushing it away, but instead putting it in the light, it gets an image and a shape that you can do something with. 💡 👉 That is also the starting point of the group of artists who will develop the Healing_scars BEELDENregen project at Kunstpodium T. They will try to depict what their own life path has been like up to this point. With prosperity, but also setbacks. And how they managed to accommodate this, including by creating, despite, or perhaps even thanks to, their traumas and life experience. The themes of trauma, PTSD or complex PTSD permeate multiple disciplines: photography, installations, text, paintings and performance. The artists have committed themselves to a radical concept: the floor plans of five solo exhibitions that have been developed independently of each other are stacked. The resulting awkward layout will be installed in Kunstpodium T regardless of the consequences. In this way, five individual artistic practices with a sensitivity to materiality are merged without compromise. When we get used to a material or space, we often don’t really see it anymore. With my work I hope other qualities will reveal themselves to the viewers eyes and make them look again.” 𝟮 | BLUE HOURS, 2022 𝟯 | Jeffrey Löbbes: “Today is a beautiful day. It is a particularly beautiful day. From every home, people are stepping out the door to work, so they can buy that unnecessary kitchen appliance, so they can buy new clothes that they already have. To pay off debts so they can make new ones. It is a particularly beautiful day.” 𝟰 | Old garden, 2022 𝟱 | Sam Tromp: “My practice consists of spatial interventions with 2D and 3D objects, where the objects serve the entire space. I make spatial drawings that can raise questions, often inspired by human traces. In my studio I conduct research into the materiality and spatial presence of these found/made traces.” 𝟲 | Draai, 2023 📷 𝘣𝘺 𝘙𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘳 𝟳 | Marie In ‘t Veld places the cycle of life and it’s passing at the center of her practice. By considering decay and revival as equal values, a process of appearing and disappearing begins. 𝟴 | 0, 2024 𝟵 | Maaike Kramer (Master) creates works that originate from mental processes and often bridge the built environment and the metaphors contained within it. The works are crafted by hand, piece by piece, and arise from fleeting sketches. The result is an inner world, a mental space, brought outward through introspective yet monumental works. Part of the thought process can be found in the notes and annotations that have remained present throughout the creation process. For example, through paving stones in the form of a root system around a tree or rearranged nature due to human intervention, but it is immediately clear that this is temporary until nature erases these traces. Using materials available on site, a direct relationship with the environment of the work becomes palpable. The spontaneity and simplicity of the interventions are visible." ２ | Brandkraangraf, 2022 ３ | Niek Opstals' work enters the unknown areas of consciousness. With vague but recognizable forms he tries to find the path to a faded and fragile state of being. Through her work, she engages in a committed relationship with the physical and social context in which she finds herself. In doing so, she raises questions about the unpredictable and changeable state of things around her. ６ | (de)fenceless, 2021 ７ | Chryso Amaya Michailidis (she/they) is a Rotterdam-based sculptor and performance artist. Their work exists in fictive sceneries, where bodies occupy space through long durational performances that lose sight of time into sound. Recognising that light is a body, akin to the air you swallow and the throat that expels water into space. ‘For had the sun not glinted on the black glove, I might not have seen the rat; had the rat not been there, I might not have noted the bottle cap, and so on.’ (Vibrant Matter, by Jane Bennett). Halfway spaces happen where you can listen to the ticking light as light transfigures into space and sound. Tension due to copper wires which eventually open the light to go pee at 2 o'clock in the night in a room where one is dwelling for the first time. Occupying spaces in institutions via a lamp attached to the ceiling, as a method to share and to create support. You will not feel you must earn the right to occupy space. Buildings as support. Architecture as structures that you can hold and hold you. Still, sometimes you need sunblinds to separate the room into sun-lines.
