Their work space and exhibition is open to visitors on 12, 13 and 14 July and 2, 3 and 4 August from 13-17h. Each of us carries some trauma with us. This does not necessarily have to be something intense, because even something seemingly trivial can have a major impact. It is important that after such an experience you enter into a process of healing. By not pushing it away, but instead putting it in the light, it gets an image and a shape that you can do something with. ๐ก ๐ That is also the starting point of the group of artists who will develop the Healing_scars BEELDENregen project at Kunstpodium T. They will try to depict what their own life path has been like up to this point. With prosperity, but also setbacks. And how they managed to accommodate this, including by creating, despite, or perhaps even thanks to, their traumas and life experience. The themes of trauma, PTSD or complex PTSD permeate multiple disciplines: photography, installations, text, paintings and performance. The artists have committed themselves to a radical concept: the floor plans of five solo exhibitions that have been developed independently of each other are stacked. The resulting awkward layout will be installed in Kunstpodium T regardless of the consequences. In this way, five individual artistic practices with a sensitivity to materiality are merged without compromise. The works are crafted by hand, piece by piece, and arise from fleeting sketches. The result is an inner world, a mental space, brought outward through introspective yet monumental works. Part of the thought process can be found in the notes and annotations that have remained present throughout the creation process. Using materials available on site, a direct relationship with the environment of the work becomes palpable. Through her work, she engages in a committed relationship with the physical and social context in which she finds herself. Their work exists in fictive sceneries, where bodies occupy space through long durational performances that lose sight of time into sound. Halfway spaces happen where you can listen to the ticking light as light transfigures into space and sound. Tension due to copper wires which eventually open the light to go pee at 2 o'clock in the night in a room where one is dwelling for the first time. Occupying spaces in institutions via a lamp attached to the ceiling, as a method to share and to create support. You will not feel you must earn the right to occupy space. Buildings as support. Architecture as structures that you can hold and hold you.
