We are a non-profit company: connecting fresh ideas from young creatives to companies and organisations through pitches.
Over ons
JongeHonden | Young Dogs (Foundation) We connect fresh ideas from young creatives to great companies and organisations. Since 1991, we’ve been hosting pitches because we believe that young creatives can shape these brands in a tremendous way. During these pitches, twenty-something creatives show off their most innovative, crazy ideas. Next to the practice of a real pitch, the winners will also be paid in another experience: The Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. IT'S THE WEIRD PERSPECTIVES, CRAZY IDEAS AND REBELLIOUS SOULS OF YOUNG CREATIVE MINDS THAT WILL FORM THE FUTURE OF THE CREATIVE INDUSTRY. - JACQUES VEREECKEN, FOUNDER But not only do we have pitches where these ideas are judged by a professional jury. We also organise Creative Classes together with our friends and have Portfolio Nights where portfolios are reviewed by the best of the best creative directors. All to help young talent kick-start their career. JOIN AS A YOUNG DOG We always like it when new creatives join the dog side, so push that button and we hope to see you and your ideas soon: jongehonden.nl/account/signup/ JOIN AS A CLIENT Always wanted to know how young creatives look at your brand? Fasten your seatbelts because YoungDogs Party in Cannes is back. This year wasn’t easy. Yes, we shamelessly admit it. This year has tested us, but we refuse to falter. We are the Underdogs fueled by resilience and determination in the face of adversity we rise. Our creativity knows no bounds, and we refuse to be confined by outdated perceptions. Even in prestigious arenas like Cannes, we demand to be seen and heard. Our youth is not a weakness but a source of strength. Together, as the Underdogs, we declare our intent to rewrite the narrative. We will carve our path, leaving an indelible mark on the world. On the 18th of June 2024, Young Dogs will kick off the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity with our legendary YoungDogs party. Amazing Artwork by the incredible folks at Artbox > centre for creation

Recently, our team had an eye-opening experience pitching ideas to Wakker Dier. It was such an incredible collection of creativity. Here are some key takeaways: 🧠 Insights Over Presumptions: It's vital for the Next Gen if creatives to embrace insights and avoid being stuck on initial assumptions. Remaining open to new perspectives fuels innovation. The best pitches found their way in through a unique insight! some of the best ones included: - Consumers spend a lot of time passively reading promo stickers on food - this can be a disruptive communication channel - Hacking/Hijacking known brands or behaviors can be super smart in creating impact - Going a “fun” route is a more effective way to get a harsh message across than using fear/emotional tactics - Wordplay is always clever 📝 Feedback-Friendly Culture: Pitches provide a unique space for constructive feedback and idea vetting. We believe in fostering an environment where young talent feels safe to share and receive feedback. 🔥 Quality Triumphs Over Quantity: Our focus on quality resulted in exceptional work and decks. Creatives that integrated into cultural trends and offered disruptive, sarcastic ideas left a lasting impression. 💡 Inspiration Beyond the Brief: While some pitches didn't align with the brief, they sparked fresh and inspiring ideas. This reminds us to think outside the box while staying rooted in strategic insights. Moving forward, how can we encourage young talent to embrace creative thinking and constructive criticism? Share your thoughts! 🌟

Not only did we launch our second pitch, but we've also opened Wolfstreet—well, at least the location. Warmly welcomed by their team and our very own old-dog, Jasper Vierboom, our second pitch for Wakker Dier was indeed a wholesome gathering. Treating our YoungDogs with not only a "How to present without presenting" crash course but also inspiring cases by CD's from Wolfstreet (Jasper Vierboom), Cheil Benelux (Tim de Waard Daniel Samama) and Boomerang. Part of Publicis Groupe (Michiel Wolters). Curious to witness the unfolding? Craving a burst of fresh concepts for your brand? Join us on April 9th for the unveiling or come chat with us at Cheil Benelux. Looking forward to seeing you there! Recently, we dove headfirst into our pitch for The Vegetarian Butcher. Looking through the amazing submissions from our doggies we formulated some insights we just have to share: 🤔 Insights are Everything: Insights are the secret sauce behind killer PR campaigns. Any pitch that started with a shocking or thoughtful insight had a solid idea, and had our ECDs hooked. A killer insight can turn a lukewarm idea into something hot. Some of the best insights our creatives found for VB were: 😴 Chickens can dream?! What are they dreaming about? Corn perhaps? 🙏 Religion is a major factor for meat consumption 😱 A bad experience with a meat replacement can lead to actual fear for trying again 🐊 The average person is more likely to try crocodile than a veggie meat 🍖 Meat dominates the chip flavor industry! 💅 Simple Ideas Shine: Having a killer idea is just the beginning. How you polish and present it is what sets you apart from the amateurs. The best ideas from our doggies shocked us with boldness - but also in how simple they were presented. Clean, crisp, and to the point was a real winner. Simplicity is where it's at. It's about stripping away the fluff and letting your idea shine. 😈 Young Creatives Dont Really Know What PR is: We realized a lot of young creatives don't actually know what a PR campaign is. Through reviews with our ECDs we could steal the right direction! Now they do. Without experience on pitches like ours they might not get it right! Here's the lowdown: PR is all about authenticity, relevance, and strategic communication. It's about building real connections with your audience, amplifying your message through trusted channels, and shaping public perception. It’s about shaping a media narrative and controlling the spread of information. Just because it could be “viral” or follows a TikTok trend does not mean it’s PR. We’re super happy to see the ones that GOT IT and even happier VB let us teach the ones that didnt. 👨🎨 Presentation of Ideas Can Matter Just as Much as the Concept: Presentation is everything. It's like putting together a killer outfit for a night out. You want your message to pop, to turn heads, to leave a lasting impression. The winning ideas went above and beyond, even creating custom logos and mock ups that could immediately live in the VB brand world. 🍗 Creatives Can Get Stuck on UnIntended Features of a Briefing: We noticed for VB that a ton of creatives were attracted to the feature “crispy” which was used as one of many descriptions of the product. This lead to a lot of “fried” ideas around the chicken chunks which was not the intention or goal of the campaign. Like our chicken friends we’re now dreaming about our next pitch! If you want to dive into some super inspiring work and insights from a brand new, fresh, and ready to learn audience, hit us up!
