* 2-Year Anniversary - The Law of Unmanned Aircraft Systems *
This month marks the second anniversary of my edited book - 'The Law of Unmanned Aircraft Systems' (2nd edition). Link: https://lnkd.in/gZAf3CdC. Therefore, it is a good opportunity to look back and reflect on the work, which is still relevant today.
The book is a comprehensive survey and guide, that reflects on the expansion of drone applications and the importance placed on it by a diverse range of stakeholders, as well as the enlarged regulatory and policy landscape. The chapters discuss, among other things, safety, security, liability, insurance, financing, accident investigation, traffic management, criminal, privacy, cybersecurity, stakeholder organisations, industry standards, space, national law and definitions.
Authorship includes a diverse list of experts from across the globe. I am also fortunate enough to be supported by a recently appointed PhD Candidate – Öykü Kurtpınar – who is writing her thesis on liability issues concerning the use of drones. This is a collaborative effort with the Civil Law department, via the co-supervision with Gitta Veldt.
