Thank you to our STM colleague Sarah Phibbs for sharing this little glimpse into the important event taking place in Nairobi this week, and thank you to those publishers who have engaged with R4L's Country Connector program. STM is proud to be a part of this collective and collaborative work to build research capacity and extend access. I look forward to hearing more upon your return home, Sarah!

‘Research4Life (R4L) brought meaning to my career’ declared Stephen Browne of Liberia, in our Country Connector gathering at UNEP Nairobi today. We heard from impressive country leaders about expanding access and building research capacity on the ground through an extensive program of events, workshops, newsletters, what’s app and telegram networks. The cross-country learning is powerful, with potential for cross cutting R4L improvements, from chatbot innovation in the El Salvador library networks to tapping into regional research networks like Garnet in Ghana. A few publishers - Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, Springer Nature & Wiley have supported R4L’s County Connector program over its first three years and now with 13 countries we are witnessing the depth and breadth of impact. A wonderfully inspiring day making me feel fortunate to play a role in the partnership on behalf of our publishers! #Research4Life #UNEP
