🚀 🚀 Infinity participant Q*BIRD B.V. announces its €2,5m investment round! ➝ The funding will be put toward the acceleration of its ‘Falqon®’ quantum security technology 💰The funding round was jointly led by QDNL Participations and Cottonwood Technology Fund, with participation from InnovationQuarter. Q*Bird has developed a unique quantum cryptography (QKD) product called Falqon, which is based on the fundamental laws of nature and provides provable security against any attack, including those from future quantum computers. 💡 Infinity supported Q*Bird since it was still a research team inside the TU Delft and QuTech. Co-founder and CEO Ingrid Romijn about our guidance: "If you spin out of your university, you will inevitably have to arrange a lot of things you’re still inexperienced with. It’s really not always easy.. Luckily, we were guided by the Infinity support programme specifically for quantum founders that provided a sounding board during every step of the way. Infinity participant Q*BIRD B.V. brings SCALABLE quantum security to Europe's largest port! 🚀 This trial is the first of its kind. What a milestone. Yesterday, Q*Bird announced its partnership with the Port of Rotterdam. The port of Rotterdam: → generates over 500,000 jobs → adds over €60 billion of value to the Netherlands. → ranks as the world's fifth most significant bulk port. → is the tenth largest container port. → accommodates 28,000 oceangoing ships and 90,000 inland vessels every year. “We’re using a novel approach by enabling many different users to connect to the same central switch station. This will allow a large number of users to exchange highly secured information,” Q*Bird co-founder and CEO, Ingrid Romijn says of the trial. “This is untappable.
