🎉 Yesterday marked the official opening of our second House of Quantum building: DT01 🎉 Our newest location is in the heart of the Delft Tech Park, accommodating up to 200 individuals and providing an exciting space for national and international companies to collaborate and innovate in quantum technology. Special thanks to PM² projectmanagers labadviseurs | part of BRINK, Constructif, Kuijpers, Bureau Bouwkunde, RHTHMstudio, Furnify - Circular Design & Build, NORNORM, building owner Family van Haren, and our incredible team, whose dedication ensured the successful completion of this project in under a year. And - of course - to Quantum Delta NL for powering & supporting our growth. Warm welcome to our inaugural tenants, including Q*BIRD B.V., Xairos, OPNT, Hoursec, Equal1, and Qblox Field Lab. Soon to follow will be the Mechanical Sensing Testbed (in collaboration with AMOLF & Delft University of Technology), and others to be announced. This is an exciting moment, as we continue to expand and work towards our mission of a national House of Quantum community, spreading across the various quantum hubs. ✨ We were honoured to celebrate this milestone yesterday, alongside members of our community and distinguished guests. ✨ For our opening ceremony, we hosted notable figures such as King’s Commissioner of South Holland Jaap Smit, Delft Mayor Frank van Vliet, EU Parliamentarian Bart Groothuis, and Thales Nederland CTO Lukas Roffel. Their speeches underlined the significance of quantum technologies and emphasised the necessity for ongoing investment in this field. ✨ During the opening, Christiaan van Oord, Director of House of Quantum, and Ecosystem Lead Shahar Graf offered attendees a look into the rapid growth of House of Quantum community and its latest facility. Followed by Pieter de Witte, Director Research Programmes & IP at Quantum Delta NL, who shared about our ecosystem approach, and the value of building technology clusters. ✨ In another highlight of the day, we were honoured to host a delegation from Sweden, including His Majesty King Carl Gustav XVI and Ericsson CTO Erik Ekudden, underscoring the significant interest and relevance of quantum technologies in the Netherlands. ✨ As Christiaan van Oord stated, "It’s crucial to showcase the relevance of Quantum and the Netherlands’ role in this field to visiting delegations and dignitaries from around the world. We always love a nice visit! This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Prineha Narang from the US, highlighting the strength of our growing quantum ecosystem. Ulrich Mans & Jesse Robbers shed insight into the Quantum Delta NL programme; Shahar Graf introduced #HouseofQuantum; and Willem Peutz presented Orange Quantum Systems (plus gave a special tour of their lab). Our team is excited to see what's next, and perhaps visit the US ecosystem soon ;)

It was an exciting day in Delft, as we welcomed Dutch parliament member Rachel Van Meetelen (PVV), Jacco Vonhof (MKB-Nederland) & Thomas Grosfeld (MKB-Nederland & VNO-NCW) at House of Quantum. After discussions at QuTech, the group joined Shahar Graf at #HouseOfQuantum to get to know more of the local (quantum) startup ecosystem and what we're building. They were able to spend the day with members Matthijs Rijlaarsdam (QuantWare), Amber Van Hauwermeiren (Orange Quantum Systems), Bauke van Rhijn (Qblox), and Remon Berrevoets (Q*BIRD B.V.). 🌟 Exciting Times at DT01! 🌟 Since the opening of our new building DT01, things have been bustling 🚀 A month ago, the Defense team and the Knowledge, Innovation, Experiments, and Simulation (KIXS) department from Joint IV Commando, part of Materiel and IT Command, hosted a Quantum Hackathon in House of Quantum. The event was co-organized with House of Quantum members Quantum Delta NL, Q*BIRD B.V., and Joint IV Commando. This gathering brought together individuals from the Ministry of Defence, government institutions and industry experts, all sharing a keen interest in quantum technology and its applications in security. Their combined expertise led to a deeper understanding of this technology, as well as potential improvements and solutions it can offer.💡 The meeting was part of a larger European initiative that KIXS is involved in, known as QCINED - a program aims to develop various Quantum Networks in the Netherlands, laying the groundwork for a broader European Quantum Network in the future. 👥 We’re always excited to see our community collaborate, and even more so when addressing societal challenges. 🌍✨ Photo credit: Joint IV Commando 📸

Quantum Rewind: Our 2nd location unveiled! This May, we officially opened the doors to building DT01, and spent the evening showcasing some of our #HouseofQuantum members, welcoming special guests and connecting with friends of HoQ. Thanks again to our guest speakers for joining us: King’s Commissioner of South Holland Jaap Smit, Delft Mayor Frank van Vliet, EU Parliamentarian Bart Groothuis, and Thales CTO Lukas Roffel. The building is now up and running, with first members settled into their offices, quantum labs & makerspaces: Q*BIRD B.V., Quantum Computer Field Lab (Qblox, InnovationQuarter, Demcon), OPNT, Hoursec, Xairos, Mechanical Sensing Testbed (AMOLF, Delft University of Technology), KIXS, Equal1… and more to come! 🚀 Last week, we attended the Optica Quantum 2.0, 2024 conference in Rotterdam alongside QuTech, Quantum Internet Alliance (QIA), and QphoX, representing the Delft quantum ecosystem, showcasing all the fantastic quantum developments in South Holland. 🤝 Together with other Quantum Delta NL hubs in our community, we invited attendees to visit each local hub. In Delft, visitors could meet researchers and representatives from QuTech, Delft University of Technology and the quantum tech startups and companies located here in Delft. 💡The day began at QuTech, where the group was welcomed by Ronald Hanson, who also provided a brief introduction to QuTech. This was followed by an overview of TNO presented by Jared Croese. They then visited the Ronald Hanson and Carlos Errando Herranz labs, as well as one of the Computing labs. The morning session concluded with a tour of the TNO building, guided by Leo Lodewijkx. 🏠 We then enjoyed lunch and a presentation by Daniel Howell at House of Quantum, the innovative hub where our quantum community collaborates under the same roof. 🌟In the afternoon, we became familiar with Qblox's scalable and low-latency qubit control equipment, and toured their building. It is hard not to be impressed by the remarkable growth and success of Qblox. Lastly, we visited our newest House of Quantum building, DT01, and got a sneak peek at the new Qblox field lab. Thanks to Qblox's Rik Seelen, Dr. Sayali Shevate & Priya Lakshmi for hosting us! We extend a thank you to everyone who visited us and all the connections we made at the Optica 2.0 Quantum conference.
