Three years have flown by so quickly. What we've achieved together is truly something to mention and celebrate! Christopher Hill is the cornerstone of Groundworkz. I vividly remember pitching the idea of an "infra as code" engineering company to him. Chris immediately saw the potential and made the bold decision to leave his job and join a startup that was just an idea. His leap of faith is something I deeply admire. Starting Groundworkz in April 2021, during the peak of the Corona pandemic, was challenging. We only met via Teams calls, never in person, but the chemistry was there. Chris envisioned a company culture like a “school class full of engineers who are good classmates and friends,” and that's how the unique Groundworkz culture was born. Today, with a "class" of 18 Infra as Code engineers, we can proudly say, it worked out well. We all share and cherish a culture of subject matter experts who work together and enjoy fun activities after work. Yesterday, we took a moment to celebrate this and of course Chris’s three years at Groundworkz with a nice lunch at the great Restaurant Hemel & Aarde. Besides the good food and wine, we discussed how we can build further on our “foundation class culture”. Chris came up with some great ideas that we will see come to life in the next months and years. Thank you, Chris, for your dedication. At Groundworkz we like to work on the foundation and ground layer of IT but sometimes it is the best to go even deeper than that and explore the underwater world. We are lucky to have within our group, Mike Reynolds and Karla Reynolds, TDI and SDI scuba diving instructors who offered us to showcase how diving in Netherlands can be. After a basic training in the pool we dared to take the plunge and see the wonders of Vinkeveen lake who was an amazing experience and great team bonding on another level.
