The excursion started with a guided boat tour to explore the Port of Rotterdam, led by Green Award Foundation Executive Director, Jan Fransen and Certification Manager, Keita Shinohara. Even more exciting, the boat we boarded, Rederij Thalassa, recently became a Green Award Binnenvaart gold certificate holder 🏅 after a thorough renovation of its engine room. We made a stop at RDM Rotterdam, a hotspot for innovation in the Rotterdam port area and there, we gave a presentation on what makes our hearts beat at Green Award Foundation 💚 and exchanged learning and experiences. As we continue to reflect on ways to make the maritime industry safer, cleaner, and more sustainable on a special day like today, this is just a reminder that the future is today. Make it count! 🚢🌿 #WorldMaritimeDay #MaritimeSafety #Shipping #SOLAS #LifeAtSea #Technology #IMOtreaty #Oceans #Seafarers University of Piraeus Dimitrios Mattheou Jan Fransen Keita Shinohara
