Why is infrastructure resilience key to adapting to #climatechange? 60% of the infrastructure needed by 2050 is yet to be built, meaning trillions of dollars of investment in infrastructure will be required over the coming decades. If done right, we can build climate resilience through these investments and: ⛔ Avoid the loss of critical assets 🚰 Reduce disruption of vital services 🚆 Improve the quality and reliability of public services 📈 Accelerate economic growth and social development Find out more about how GCA is working with partners to create climate-resilient infrastructure around the world: https://lnkd.in/emAYU6Y2

🌍🌾 Scaling Climate-Smart Agriculture in Northern Nigeria GCA and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) are teaming up to drive climate-smart, resilient agriculture in one of Nigeria’s most vulnerable regions. As part of IFAD's Value Chain Programme in the North (VCN), this partnership will transform agriculture, supporting over 30,000 households facing low productivity, poverty, and the escalating impacts of climate change🌱 In Northern Nigeria, where agriculture sustains over 84% of households, climate change and natural disasters put livelihoods and food security at risk. This initiative will foster climate-resilient and nutrition-sensitive practices with focus on: 🔹 Conduct climate risk assessments to guide investments 🔹 Identify adaptive solutions for priority value chains 🔹 Build financial capacity and expand market linkages With climate adaptation strategies, we aim to support smallholder farmers in securing their future and strengthening local food security. This initiative is part of the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program #AAAP with African Development Bank Group Read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/etrBhdtX #AdaptOurWorld #ClimateAdaptation #ResilientAgriculture #ClimateActions

🌍 Garbancito’s Parable: Small Island Developing States Confronting Climate Change 🌊 Like Garbancito, the "little chickpea," Small Island Developing States face enormous challenges as they confront the looming ox of #climatechange. But size doesn’t determine strength! These vulnerable states are not passive—they are resilient and resourceful, implementing innovative solutions to build stronger, climate-adapted communities. Just like in Garbancito’s tale, where collaboration saves the day, it’s time for global decision-makers to step up. Small islands are leading with innovative solutions—they need concrete support, from finance to policy action, to scale their efforts and secure their futures.
