A legally enforceable claim for payment held by a business entity against its customer for goods supplied or services rendered in execution of the customer's order, and recorded on the balance sheet. Such claim generally takes the form of invoice raised by a seller and delivered to the customer for payment within agreed timeframe. Also called "Receivables". 🔁 Translations: French - Compte client German - Forderungen aus Lieferungen und Leistungen Greek - Λογαριασμοί Εισπρακτέοι Italian - Crediti verso clienti (A/R) Polish - Należności (brak odpowiednika w jęz. polskim) Portuguese - Contas a Receber Spanish - Cuentas por cobrar To learn more, visit https://lnkd.in/eey-8xfA #EUF #factoring #commercial #finance #europe FCI Fausto Galmarini

It comprises national and international industry associations that are active in the EU, their factoring turnover representing 10% of EU GDP. The EUF seeks to engage with Government and legislators to enhance the availability of finance to business, with a particular emphasis on the SME community. Bringing together national experts to speak with one voice, its aim is to provide legislators and policy makers with vital industry information to inform, influence and assist with the direction of existing and future finance legislation. It seeks to ensure the continued provision of prudent and well structured finance to businesses across the EU. The Factoring and Commercial Finance Industry has a valuable role to play in the EU economy and the EUF will work to engage in debate with regulators and legislators to ensure they are fully aware of the benefits that the Industry has to offer.

The Factoring and Commercial Finance Industry offers a wide range of products and services, which European firms extensively use to grow their businesses. The EU Federation for the Factoring and Commercial Finance Industry, as the industry's representative body in the European Union, wishes to contribute to the establishment of standard terminology concerning commonly used terms to improve communication and knowledge about the Industry across Europe. In this new series on industry terminology, we will discuss and explain the terms used in our industry. This week, we explore "Accounts Payable (A/P)". A legally enforceable liability to a creditor recorded in the balance sheet usually arises from purchases of goods and services and is evident by a received invoice due to be paid within an agreed timeframe. 🔁 Translations: French - Compte fournisseur German - Verbindlichkeiten aus Lieferungen und Leistungen Greek - Λογαριασμοί Πληρωτέοι Italian - Debiti verso fornitori (A/P) Polish - Zobowiązania (brak odpowiednika w jęz. polskim) Portuguese - Contas a Pagar Spanish - Cuentas a Pagar To learn more, visit https://lnkd.in/eey-8xfA #EUF #factoring #commercial #finance #europe FCI Fausto Galmarini

EUF warmly thanks Mr Othmar Karas, first Vice-President of the European Parliament and EPP shadow rapporteur on the Banking package, for his intervention at the beginning of the panel moderated by Antoine de CHABOT, chairman of EUF ESG Committee and representative of Association française des Sociétés Financières. In this intervention on CRR and ESG, Mr Karas insisted on the importance of making progress on common understanding and reliability of data as a first step for a dedicated treatment of related exposures. From this perspective, transition plans, which the management bodies of institutions are, following CRR, required to draw up in order to deal with ESG risks, have full relevance. The EUF's warm thanks are also dedicated to Mr Fabien Le Tennier, Policy Expert, Sustainable Finance, European Banking Authority (EBA), who brought key insights on transition plans aimed at demonstrating how institutions ensure robustness and readiness for the transition to a sustainable economy and on EBA doctrine and roadmap on ESG risks, as reflected in the corresponding pending EBA consultation. Two high-level practitioners from the industry, Aurelien Viry, CEO of Société Générale Factoring, France, and board member of ASF, and Pierre-Olivier Maes, International Development and Sustainability Manager, BNP Paribas Factoring, emphasized how the industry has identified requests from businesses and is dedicated to accompanying clients in their transition walks to ESG, with strong concerns of general interest underpinning the orientations chosen. #euf #finance FCI
