📍On Wednesday, ENCS and TU Delft signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking a significant step forward in boosting cyber security for European power grids. 🤝 The collaboration will focus on researching future security technologies, providing operator training in cybersecurity best practices, and standardizing procedures for grid operators. At the heart of this partnership lies TU Delft's Control Room of the Future (CRoF) Technology Centre, equipped with an RTDS Simulator for testing real-life grid scenarios. 🔐 I am both proud and honored to have hosted and steered the 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 of #ICTC on "𝐂𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐎𝐂 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬" in Athens! It was an insightful day of knowledge exchange where 10 TSOs have answered the cybersecurity survey and 4 of them presented their strategies and use cases🤝📊 Special thanks to our distinguished guest speakers: 1. Mr. Roy Braha, Business Development Director at Israeli Electric Corporation (IEC), who shared pioneering insights from Israel’s advanced cybersecurity and SOC operations.💡 2. Mr. Anjos Nijk, Managing Director of ENCS, whose presentation on ENCS developments was incredibly enlightening. 🌟📈 A heartfelt thank you to the more than 80 professionals from most EU TSOs who participated both physically and online. Your engagement is vital to our collective cybersecurity efforts. 👥💻 🛡️ Our discussions reinforced the imperative of fortifying our #cybersecurity infrastructure and harmonizing #soc activities to not only defend against threats but also to advance our #resilience in this ever-evolving #cyberrisk landscape. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 include: • The importance of protecting #criticalinfrastructure, ensuring service continuity, and safeguarding data integrity and privacy. 🛠️🔒 • Trends towards integrating IT and OT environments for enhanced responsiveness 🔄🔧 • The pivotal role of SOCs in managing real-time threat detection, incident response, and resilience planning 🧠🎯 • The need for interconnected SOCs that can swiftly exchange information and intelligence is very important 🤝📡 • Challenges like skill shortages, the integration of advanced tools, and maintaining visibility across increasingly complex systems are common threads in the survey responses. 🚨 🔗 In addressing these challenges, I propose: • 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤: Enhancing mechanisms for real-time information sharing and resource allocation among all TSOs. • 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Creating a centralized platform for TSOs to anonymously share cyber threat data. • 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Committing to regular training updates to keep our teams proficient in the latest cybersecurity technologies. 📚 Cybersecurity is not just about protecting assets; it's a strategic imperative that reassures the reliability and trust in our electricity supply across Europe. ⚡ ENTSO-E Enrico Senatore Radek Hartman Nicolas Richet
