Apart from that, we offer training for key ecosystem players and networks across the globe. We are firm believers of the pay it forward culture. It is the basis for true connection and growth. And this is where the magic (and shit) happens. We focus on impact over numbers and believe that an open mind and a learning attitude are key to take on (international) adventures. Preparation is the fundamental first step to becoming internationally successful. The market changes constantly; we listen and adapt to the needs of the teams we work with to create the most impact and help them navigate and strategically prepare their journey across borders.

Empowering tomorrow’s innovative scale-ups! ⚙ Last Friday, Cyril Schouten was invited to The Gate at the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven to provide an interactive workshop on Internationalisation Readiness for entrepreneurs of the European Venture Programme. Combining (student) entrepreneurs of deeptech ventures from 5 European universities DTU - Technical University of Denmark, École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, EPFL ,Institut Polytechnique de Paris, Technische Universiteit Eindhoven and Technical University of Munich. We dove into differences between international markets, zooming in on regulatory and cultural implications for AI, deeptech and biotech startups. On top of that, we were joined by experienced founder Brian Kelly, CEO of emproof, who shared some of his first-hand experiences and lessons: 👉 Don’t over complicate your company valuation for your Seed round. Take into account your (future) R&D, potential upside and dare to be the first one who suggests a number to the investor. 👉 Don’t underestimate the importance of cultural differences of cultures that are seemingly similar and 👉 As founder, work on the core business only. Delegate or outsource anything that someone else can do better than you, so you can focus on the core of the business. Great to see such an ambitious group of young dedicated entrepreneurs trying to create a better tomorrow! Good luck on your entrepreneurial journey! Thank you to Brian Kelly, Bart van Grevenhof and Beaudine Moll!

What do a rocket 🚀 and a unicorn 🦄 have in common? They are both part of our EIT Supernovas RocketUp programme! During the past weeks, we introduced the founders to what exactly constitutes market opportunities and how to identify them. This plenary session was followed by a Q&A session with Matthijs Welle, co-founder of one of the newest unicorns Mews, which was focused specifically on the topic of GTM strategy and validation process. Thank you Matthijs Welle for connecting with us online! It was great having you with us, sharing your learnings and answering the questions from the founders participating in the programme. Here is what we have learnt: 🌍 You don’t always need to have your employees based where you have your sales focus. 💪 Entrepreneurship is not for the faint-hearted, don't be afraid to take risks. This applies especially when expanding internationally. ExoMatter, Vini Mini, UNIO Enterprise, SABI AGRI, Biopols, Hergele Mobility, Circonomit, Dreamwaves, FABBRIC, OnTime (Top 50 Startup in EU), Grayn, Raw Edge, see you all in two weeks where we will hear the first results of your target market analysis. Good luck with the preparations! As a startup founder, one of the most valuable pieces of advice comes from Glenn 🥦 Mathijssen, founder and CEO of Alberts: Get out of the door and talk to people! Whether you’re in management or a founding member, it’s crucial to: 👉 Network Actively: Connect with as many people as possible. Their experiences and advice can be invaluable. 👉 Seek Diverse Input: Gather insights from various sources. This will help you make informed decisions and avoid common pitfalls. 👉 Trust Your Instincts: While it’s important to listen to others, don’t lose sight of your vision. Keep doing your own brainwork and stay true to your path. Remember, the journey to success is not just about having a great idea but also about being open to learning from others. 🌐💡

Starting the day off with coffee, croissants and networking. 🥐 Last Thursday we welcomed some of our Globaliser alumni for another one of our Founder Breakfasts. We met at StartDock (which is our new homebase, by the way) and connected while enjoying the view over a sunny Amsterdam Central Station. These breakfasts are a great way to network with your fellow Globaliser alumni in a small and intimate setting, which enables you to use each other as sparring partners on relevant challenges and topics that might keep you awake. Thanks for joining us and see you at the next one!

Joe Pitzel H.B. Comm (SPAD) B.A. Econ MBA PHD and Elizabeth MacLaughlin and University of Fredericton (e)MBA students, it was great to welcome you once again last week for your annual International Field Study trip in Amsterdam. 🇳🇱 This marks the end of the third edition of the UFred IFS trip that DutchBasecamp has supported! We value our long-term relationship with UFred and getting to work with the ambitious (e)MBA students. So, what was it about? 🧐 👉🏼We welcomed 32 students from the University of Fredericton in sunny (and sometimes a bit rainy) Amsterdam 👉🏼The students took part in a customised 5-day programme to dive deeper into the intricate dynamics of building a global business. We covered a wide range of topics such as sales & marketing, pricing strategies, budgeting, distribution, legal and finance, rapid prototyping and much more. We also shed a light on how they can use AI to their advantage in some of those fields. 👉🏼We welcomed 16 speakers during the week who shared their knowledge and expertise in their respective fields and allowed the students to improve their business cases. Thanks for taking part in this programme! 🚀 A big shout out to the students for their engagement, enthusiasm and great (and sometimes not so great) jokes throughout the week! We look forward to our next adventure with UFred, which will be this coming October. We will strike down in Berlin to host a new group of (e)MBA students for our first ever Berlin edition! 🇩🇪 #internationalisation #expansion #emba
