Summer BBQ in Enschede! 🌞 Yesterday, our team in Enschede came together for a summer BBQ and to kick off the holiday season. We enjoyed delicious food, prepared by a few talented colleagues who showed off their (culinary) skills outside of the office. It was a great time with good food, refreshing drinks, and excellent company. Certainly, an event that is worth repeating! #SummerBBQ

Project completed! Last week, we delivered this machine, jointly developed with Demcon GmbH, to Enzyre B.V. for the development of their #Enzycards. The software was co-developed with our colleagues in Münster, with hardware engineered by Demcon industrial systems Enschede. Read more about the technical characteristics of the machine below!   About the machine The machine is designed to connect blisters and filters to a microfluidic card. The blister and filter are clamped between a ring and the microfluidic card. This ring is bonded to the microfluidic card through the #ultrasonic-welding process. By opening the machine's lid, the operator can place the components of the Enzycard in the carrier and then close the lid. The process will then start automatically, and the carrier will move to the two welding modules to perform the welding actions. When the product is ready to be removed from the machine, the operator will receive a notification indicating whether the product has been welded correctly, and the product can be manually removed from the carrier. The process can then be restarted by placing new products in the carrier and closing the lid.   What makes this machine unique? Equipped with two welding modules from Herrmann Ultraschall, each with different sonotrodes, the machine is highly adaptable to and suitable for various product designs without requiring changes to its current setup. This operational flexibility, combined with a 15-second cycle time, makes it ideal for our #SmartManufacturingTable. Moreover, the welding modules are designed for future integration into high-volume production lines on our #SmartMachineBase, ensuring a scalable and future-ready production solution!   How will Enzyre use the machine? The products produced by this machine will serve as disposables for the ENZYPAD, which enables blood coagulation analysis at the patient’s location. This data is then accessible to the treating physician, regardless of their location. With basic queueing theory based on the customer's already available logging data from the current production system, we have shown that a different architecture would increase the system's throughput by 50%. Just by using this data-driven solution, without making significant changes to the physical production line. Last week the Nothern Smart Industry | NXTGEN Hightech - Autonomous factory project organized a big event to show the first project results after one year. In the "Plus Ultra Groningen" building location of TNO, the program focused on the importance of developing autonomous production systems for maintaining and expanding productivity in the Netherlands and the northern region. The morning featured substantive sessions with all 24 consortium partners. The afternoon program was for invited guests from companies, governments, knowledge institutions and other organizations. They were explained the challenges we face in the Netherlands to stay competitive and how cooperation can help the companies achieve better and quicker results. #hightech #industrial #smartindustry #nxtgen

We are pleased to announce a leadership transition at our Münster location! After two successful years as interim Managing Director, Thijs Rupert will be transitioning from this role to focus on the development and growth of Industrial Systems in Enschede. We are delighted to welcome Benedikt Höing as the new Managing Director of our Münster department. Benedikt, who began his journey at Demcon Münster as the Manager of Sales and Project Management, brings great enthusiasm and commitment to his new role. He is eager to implement his vision for the future of our Münster facility. We gratulate Benedikt and wish him good luck and great success in his new role. We are confident that he’ll successfully continue the development of the Münster location, our team and the projects we’re executing. Exploring Waste Transformation and Green Innovation: Highlights from Omrin's Ecopark Tour and Groningen Airport's Burendag! Last Friday Omrin opened their doors at "Ecopark de Wierde" in Heerenveen for us, to see how they manage to turn household waste into valuable resources. It was very interesting to see how a mixed waste-stream (including plastics and PMD!) is separated into single material streams. All organic materials (including diaper contents) are turned into biogas, which powers their fleet of garbage trucks and is returned to the households through the standard natural-gas network. Circularity in many ways! In an interactive workshop they showed, together with Nimble Institute and New Nexus, how they transformed their organization to be more digitally mature and secure. At Demcon industrial systems we see many customers facing similar challenges: how to connect your OT to your IT in a future-proof and flexible way. Thank you NPAL for organizing, it was a great experience! During the weekend, Lars De Groot represented Demcon industrial systems at the ‘burendag’ of Groningen Airport Eelde. Together with Ton Rademaker he presented our electrolyser for green hydrogen, a critical component towards emission-free air transportation. With over 6000 visitors it was a very successful day.
