The paper “Orbital Angular Momentum of Light and the Transformation of Laguerre-Gaussian Laser Modes,” published in 1992 by a team of researchers from Leiden University, among whom was cosine Founder and Managing Director Prof. Dr Marco Beijersbergen, has reached 10,000 citations. The paper, which introduced the concept of orbital angular momentum of light and methods to generate it with laser beams, has been a cornerstone in the fields of optics and physics. Its influence was already recognized by its election as one of the “Three Classics” papers in the 50-year history of Physical Review by the American Physical Society. This significant milestone underscores the profound impact of their research on the scientific community! Read more about it on our website: https://lnkd.in/gggjdA7H

Yesterday, cosine achieved an important milestone in our work for the European Space Agency - ESA’s Sentinel-4 mission. We are proud to have passed the ESA review, allowing us to continue developing correction algorithms to mitigate stray light-induced errors in the Sentinel-4 #spectrometer data. This advancement is crucial for retrieving and monitoring key air quality parameters! 🌎 ➡ Watch our video about how cosine helps to counter stray light from space: https://lnkd.in/eMKxUSx9 🛰 Read more about the Sentinel-4 mission: https://lnkd.in/eD-eWGYn #Sentinel4 #ESA #AirQuality #Innovation #StrayLightCorrection #EO #EarthObservation Marco Esposito
