Mission Aviation Fellowship's open day is loose!
Over ons
Cormorant is a Dutch, sustainable, technical & design development for a uniquely flexible and adaptable, electric-powered, 8-seater aircraft for Regional Air Mobility¹ markets encompassing air-taxi, light cargo, medivac, tourist/ leisure, utility, and surveillance sectors. It follows conventional, strictly regulated aircraft development guidelines under EASA CS-23 / FAA part 23 (level III) certification and is well advanced to-wards prototyping. We are at a critical point in the evolution of sustainable, ‘green’ aviation for short-distance flights for smaller aircraft. The inherent benefits of the Cormorant’s design coalesce with improvements in electrical storage and propulsive technologies to yield a viable short-range aircraft for point-to-point scheduled, air-taxi, medevac, and/or light cargo operations. Combined with its amphibious capabilities, a go-anywhere, green, transport solution is apparent in the Cormorant concept. The Cormorant provides for a revival in the seaplane general aviation sector and beyond with its multi-functional, comfortable, efficient design. Safety and practicality have been at the forefront of the Cormorant concept. Its low centre of gravity, innovative lift-generating, variable pitch, ducted-fan, and composite material construction address issues around safety, operating efficiency and maintenance costs that have negatively characterised the amphibious general aviation sector for decades. ¹ Electric Regional Air Mobility (ERAM) is defined as commercial passenger flights with 9 to 50-seater aircraft

We’re proud to be part of the Sustainable Aviation Test Environment (SATE), with its objective to act as a proving ground and test bed for zero-emission projects that aim to better serve more remote communities. Now reaching its concluding phase, let’s hope further government funding supports the significant momentum developed so far.
Our new showreel is now on the website! ✈ We launched the showreel at our Taking Flight conference last month and hope it gives people a flavour of what the programme involves, potential impact and what consortium partners are on board. Please share this with your network! www.sate.scot #sustainableaviation #regionalsustainableaviation #highlandsandislands

Take off Not yet, or rather not at all. The trailer had minor damage that needed to be repaired. This will be done at the company where the trailer was built. On a positive note, the trailer will have the original #Cormorant colours. So the combi will look great during Mission Aviation Fellowship open day on 6 July at E-Deck on NV Luchthaven Teuge

Great to have participated in this excellent one-day conference; our thanks to Sustainable Aviation Test Environment (SATE). Well done to all for a useful and memorable event.
🆕 We're Taking Flight! Scotland’s first regional sustainable aviation conference, “Taking Flight”, took place in Inverness earlier this month. Read the full news story below and please share with your network.

As a SATE consortium member Cormorant participated in a great public “Taking Flight” event on May 9th. More than 80 participants from Sustainable Aviation Test Environment (SATE) and other companies and institutions came together to discuss the latest developments on sustainable flight in the Scottish Highlands & Islands geographic and socio-economic environment. An excellent speaker line-up presented on route developments as well as new opportunities for passenger and freight transportation. Also integration of electric and hydrogen fuel cell powertrains were discussed. Cormorant SEAplanes saw validation of its design concept and performance, for the possibilities to unlock and serve remoter communities with land and seaplane capabilities having (net-)zero operations. Cormorant’s 3-phase development plan fits very well with the ambitions of HITRANS. #SustainableAviation #TakingFlight #CormorantSEAplanes

Cormorant SEAplanes heeft dit gerepost
The Fanjet 600 was developed and built precisely for this purpose: Training and keeping jet pilots current - at low cost. The right tool for prospective test pilots and flight test engineers. And there is no reason this can‘t be fun! Thanks to EURO FLIGHT TEST GMBH for the good cooperation.

With the design of the Cormorant being developed over two decades, this has proved to be fortunate rather than a hindrance. It has enabled allowance to be made for the incorporation of recent developments in cleaner, more efficient, and quieter powertrains that herald a ‘green revolution’ in electric aviation transportation. We are now at the point where we can move forward through proof of concept phases to certification and commercialization. It's in the air, innovation on a higher level

The AERO Friedrichshafen 2024 show was once again a wonderful experience. This year we had the pleasure of speaking with many professionals and enthusiasts. If you are interested in our Cormorant SEAplanes design and there was no opportunity to talk during the fair, we are available to speak to you in a virtual call. Otherwise, see you next year at AERO Friedrichshafen!
Inspiring day for CFEngineering GmbH at the AERO Friedrichshafen 2024! We had a great time connecting with old contacts and making new ones in the aviation industry at the AERO. So many opportunities for learning and networking! The connections made and insights gained were invaluable. A wave of ground-breaking ideas and disruptive technologies will definitely transform the future of aviation. Thanks a lot Chris Rijff for your time. It was a pleasure to meet you and gain more insights into the innovative work you are doing at Cormorant SEAplanes! Thanks a lot Buwe van Wimersma and Jeroen Gilijamse for a constructive and a productive conversation about regional air mobility. It was a delight to exchange ideas and to gain more insight into the fascinating work you are doing at ELECTRON aerospace. www.cfengineering.de #CFE #LandingGearSystems #Design&Development #Innovation #AircraftDevelopment #eVTOL #AERO #Aviation

Fanjet 600 "The exotic drive may even make a comeback in a new type of model: in the Netherlands, the company Cormorant SEAplanes is currently developing an amphibious aircraft for up to seven passengers, freight or a mixture of both. Its emission-free propulsion is to be provided by a ducted propeller that is rotated by an electric motor." (Article in German by Jürgen Schelling) https://lnkd.in/e6P-4cFx
