Over ons

CocoPallet - A transport pallet pressed from only coconut husk. Circular and 100% bio-degradable. A more affordable and sustainable pallets option than most wooden one-way export pallets from South-East Asia. CocoPallet prevents the wastage of millions of trees and billions of coconut husks. We offer coconut farmers additional income, the exporters lower cost and reduce CO2 impact. The importing end receives valuable biomass, as the 100% bio-based CocoPallet can be milled and used as soil improver. Basically from farmer to farmer taking care of all stakeholders.

Cheaper export pallets that lower CO2 impact in supply chain from Asia CocoPallet presents at the ReverseMi Sustainable Logistics Conference in Abu Dhabi   At the ReverseMi Sustainable Logistics conference in Abu Dhabi May 2024, CocoPallet founder Michiel Vos was given the opportunity to introduce CocoPallet, their SUSTAINABLE solution to reduce CO2 emissions, saving millions of trees, and LOWERING costs ACROSS the supply chain. We received significant interest from countries lacking affordable and sustainable (wooden) pallets or viable alternatives, highlighting the global need for sustainable solutions in logistics.   CocoPallet is an impact-driven enterprise that addresses major environmental challenges by producing sustainable 100% bio-based export pallets MADE ONLY FROM COCONUT HUSKS. These pallets not only outperform traditional wooden one-way pallets in many Asian countries but also come with a lower cost and carbon footprint. An added bonus: our solution provides additional income for coconut farmers and prevents thousands of tons of coconut husk from being burned.   The conference centered on advancing Logistics and Freight Forwarders toward net carbon zero emissions by 2050. ReverseMi Logistics Network is a Global Logistics Network of freight forwarders and logistics companies specializing in Reverse Logistics, promoting a circle economy where products are reused for environmental benefits. ReverseMi facilitates a platform for freight forwarders sharing industry knowledge and opportunities. • Total tropical primary forest loss in 2023 totaled 3.7 million hectares, the equivalent of losing almost 10 football fields of forest per minute! The recent published report from Global Forest Watch delivers a sobering reality: deforestation rates are still rising. Last year Brazil and Columbia experienced reduced deforestation growth due to increased regulation, but unfortunately this is not the case in many other countries, and the overall data paint a stark picture of continued forest cover loss worldwide. Main drivers of deforestation include agricultural expansion, logging, infrastructure development, and urbanization. Aligned with the goals set forth in international agreements like COP2030, we are committed to reducing deforestation rates significantly by 2030. However, achieving these targets requires more than just monitoring – it demands action and innovation.  One such innovation making waves in the fight against deforestation is CocoPallet. Traditionally, wooden pallets have been a ubiquitous feature in global supply chains, driving demand for timber and contributing to deforestation, if not FSC certified. This unsustainable practice not only threatens vital ecosystems and biodiversity but also exacerbates climate change by releasing stored carbon into the atmosphere. CocoPallet offers a sustainable alternative to this destructive cycle. Made from 100% coconut husk without any additives, these fully biobased pallets not only reduce reliance on timber but also repurpose agricultural by-products that would otherwise go to waste. By utilizing coconut husks, CocoPallet not only minimizes deforestation but also promotes sustainable agriculture and circular economy practices. #Deforestation #Sustainability #CocoPallet #GlobalForestWatch #COP2030

  • CocoPallets have landed in Australia! We are happy to have Prysmian Group to become one of our potential launching customers for our first produced CocoPallets of our future pilot factory. Prysmian Group, the world leader in energy and telecom systems, aims to become the global leader in sustainability and announced their net-zero Climate Change Ambition over 10 years. One of Prysmian Group’s initiatives to fully decarbonize its Scope 3 emissions by 2050 in its ever-evolving supply chains. One of the critical issues is to find sustainable and circular-economy based alternatives when it comes to the use of wooden pallets across its operations in Asia Pacific. An alternative is a CocoPallet which is a sustainable & fully bio-based export pallet made only from 100% coconut husks. CocoPallet has engaged with Prysmian Group’s Asia Pacific management and explored the opportunity to use CocoPallets by doing a supply chain trials beginning at one of its biggest global factories in Liverpool NSW, Australia and other trials in one of its sites in Singapore mid-November of this year. This Climate Change Ambition seeks to position Prysmian Group as one of the main technological players in the transition to low-carbon energy and we at CocoPallet are very thrilled to have one of the world’s largest cable companies to explore a potential partnership with CocoPallet and be part of Prysmian Group’s journey & transition to sustainable packaging, beginning with the humble pallet. We are excited to share one of our launching customers’ experience and we are grateful to work alongside Prysmian Group’s Oceania & SE Asia Group CEO - Erkan Aydogdu, VP Operations - Cem Basar, and its dynamic team in Australia, David Worden and Erwin Kasper (both on the right side of the CocoPallet with Prysmian cables while our CCO Kiel Flores stands on the left side). #circulareconomy #sustainability #supplychain

  • Interesting discussion in FD today about the sustainability of wooden pallets versus plastic pallets. This article (in Dutch) dives into the environmental impact and efficiency of these materials, providing a view of sustainable choices. CocoPallet, made from coconut waste without any additives, not only addresses deforestation concerns but also brings circularity and additional income for farmers to the table. It would be interesting to include CocoPallet in the wooden/plastic pallet comparison when we have started up our production. CocoPallet will probably stand out in terms of environmental friendliness and circular economy principles. https://lnkd.in/eqCNGZFv

In our ever-connected world, the role of supply chains has never been more crucial. Yet, their environmental impact cannot be ignored. That's why IDA Foundation is pioneering innovative trials with CocoPallet International B.V., a startup offering #circular #pallets. Why pallets? Pallets are an important, yet often overlooked component of the supply chain and logistics process. 🌱 Traditional wooden pallets are single-use, contributing to deforestation and waste. Instead, CocoPallet uses discarded coconut husks, creating 100% biodegradable pallets and reducing CO2 emissions. 🌎 IDA Foundation and Cocopallet’s mutual goal? To revolutionise global (health) supply chains while championing environmental sustainability. 🌐 Read more about our exciting trials, paving a journey towards a greener, more efficient future in global supply chains. 🚢🌿 https://lnkd.in/eeq5qrhe #Sustainability #SupplyChain #Innovation #SDG12 #Logistics #CircularEconomy #EnvironmentalImpact
