CLEAR RIVERS in a nutshell 😉

Many thanks to WaterBear Network for their contribution to plastic free rivers (canals) in Amsterdam. Last Friday afternoon embarked our shared efforts to clean part of Amsterdam's city center. With the cleanup we prevented plastic litter from reaching the canals, rivers and eventually the sea. Clean ups are part of our overall approach to plastic pollution, that also includes the placement of Litter traps in ports and rivers, education, awareness creation and durable recycling. Today on #worldcleanupday we see the ongoing need to keep on cleaning our waterways and quays. The pictures show the retrieval of one of CLEAR RIVERS Litter Traps in Rotterdam. Plastic pollution comes in all shapes and kinds. Despite the great efforts on return fees and ban of single use plastics, we're still finding all kinds of waste in our international waters. CLEAR RIVERS will keep pushing its overall approach to stop plastic pollution, as we have been doing in the last ten year. Will you join us?

CLEAR RIVERS Litter Trap in Brussels has a new sponsor! We're very pleased to preannounce that we will keep retrieving plastic debris in the harbor basin of Brussels. 🔍 Did you know that you can find us at the Maritime Museum in Rotterdam? Through the summer, CLEAR RIVERS was included in a mini expo on the museum ship Geertruida. The idea was to introduce children to various maritime innovations, inspiring them to design their own with LEGO 🧩 Education is a key pillar at CLEAR RIVERS, and we want to empower the younger generation to solve the plastic pollution crisis. Thank you Maritiem Museum Rotterdam for the great initiative! 🚢🌍

A ‘trap’ to collect litter at the heart of Mekong Delta Can Tho City, known for its stunning landscapes and extensive waterways, faces significant challenges with #plasticwaste polluting its rivers and channels. A recent initiative called the Litter Trap by Dutch non-profit organization CLEAR RIVERS was launched in June 2024 to gather floating plastic debris from rivers and ports, preventing it from contaminating the water bodies. Mainly constructed from recycled plastic, this trap provides a suitable and durable solution to halt #plasticpollution in Vietnam's numerous deltas. The retrieved plastics will be recycled into durable products. In addition to placing Litter traps, CLEAR RIVERS raises awareness of plastic pollution among students and local communities, as well as organises river cleanups with them. CLEAR RIVERS launched its overall approach to plastic pollution in Vietnam. Plastic litter is retrieved from rivers and prevented from getting in. Clean ups and Litter traps are used to remove plastic from rivers. With education and awareness programs plastic littering will be stopped. Recycling revalues and reuses the waste. On July 12, we teamed up with DEPT® for a city cleanup as part of DEPT Cares 2024. Despite the rain, the team showed remarkable enthusiasm and dedication, collecting 43 kg of trash—they even found an old laptop!
