Dear friends, We are thrilled to announce that yesterday at 07:30, Chemship has acquired another vessel from our long-term friend and partner, Tachibanaya. The acquisition of MT Chemical Contender increases the number of vessels we own, aligning perfectly with our philosophy of maintaining a young and efficient fleet to achieve the highest standards of sustainability and safety. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Tachibanaya for the continued friendship and partnership as together we have made some major steps in our joint journey towards success. To all personnel onboard of MT Chemical Contender, whose dedication, hard work and safety awareness are our licence to operate in a very demanding industry, we wish you smooth and safe seas and together we are "Setting Sail Toward Sustainable Shipping" #chemicalshipping #stainless_steel #sustainability #BSD2024

However before she arrives in Turkey, I just wanted to share these beautiful pictures showing the “Ventofoils” in full action. In the meantime I invite you to stay connected with us through our websites (www.Chemship.com and/or https://lnkd.in/e_x_QsR6) where we will give updates and insights on our journey towards sustainability. During the upcoming AFPM, our chartering team will be available to share insights into our sustainable practices and initiatives. Dear friends, We are very proud of our world premiere of having the first hybrid wind assisted chemical tanker. After a very intense period in port which was earmarked by many vessel-visits with family, friends and stakeholders but also severe (international) media attention (newspapers, television and radio), our beautiful “sail” ship has literally “set sail” and started her next voyage. The start of a new voyage of MT Chemical Challenger is not only the start of a new voyage, it is the start of a new era. We are all very interested in the experience of the crew and wish them good luck in “Setting Sail Toward Sustainable Shipping”. #chemicalshipping #stainlesssteel #windpropulsion #chemicalindustry #sustainability #co2reduction

In a giant leap towards a greener shipping industry Chemship has equipped the first chemical tanker with “sails”. The inauguration of the sails, which took place in the Port of Rotterdam on Friday, will earmark a milestone in the 55 years of history of Chemship and will place us at pole position of innovation in the chemical shipping industry. On Friday 16th February a crowd of 180 stakeholders gathered together on board of a fully electric event-boat to witness the “hoisting of the sails” of the MT Chemical Challenger. It was a pleasure to welcome so many visitors which showed the collective excitement and curiosity about this new technology. Although windpower is an ancient way of propulsion, the innovative “ventofoils” are groundbreaking technology and show our commitment to continue reducing CO2 emissions. The “sails” are the most visible part of the solutions we have applied to reduce the CO2 footprint. All our initiatives can be found in a specially created website (https://lnkd.in/e_x_QsR6). By way of this platform we want to keep you updated on our efforts towards sustainable shipping and about the new technologies we are working on together with our partners in the industry. I would like to send out special thanks to the captain and the crew of the MT Chemical Challenger for showing their hospitality and cooperation while the sails were installed. I wish you all safe sailings. Also thanks to all the participants for making this project possible. We trust this will encourage fellow shipowners in the chemical tanker segment to follow our example that we can jointly achieve our goal of “Setting Sail Towards Sustainable Shipping”. #chemicalindustry #stainlesssteel #co2reduction #windpropulsion #carbonfootprint #chemicalshipping

CEO & Managing Director at Chemship BV

Last Wednesday Chemship invited around 120 stakeholders for an early Christmas gathering at the Lakehouse restaurant, near our office in Capelle aan den IJssel. Before the guests arrived, our Chartering Director Wilfred Boverhof and I jointly confirmed to each other how excited we were about our journey towards sustainable shipping. With the youngest fleet in our trade lanes, and already having installed a variety of sustainable solutions on our vessels and in our office, we are more ready to sail this journey together. Also we are very thankful that Wilfred has returned back to work after a challenging year. We wish you all a very happy holiday season.

Find the difference   Last week our MT Chemical Contender was in Drydock in Varna for her 1st special survey which is done after 5 years. The drydocking was the right moment for us to apply a revolutionary Graphite Hull Coating. This coating is known for its friction reducing abilities, which (in short) will lead to reduced fuel consumption and eventually less CO2 emissions. Furthermore, also a Boss Cap Fin was installed (the little propellor on the main propellor: see picture), which is also a measure to reduce the emissions of this vessel. All these improvements are leading to a more sustainable shipping industry and therefor we continue to invest in emission reducing measures. Please join us at “Setting Sail Towards Sustainable Shipping”. #stainlesssteel #sustainability #chemicalshipping #chemicalindustry

As storm Ciarán is raging through the English Channel and hampering the coasts of England, France, Belgium, and The Netherlands, also our MT Chemical Mariner and MT Chemical Master have encountered challenging weather conditions, including very rough seas and extreme strong winds. In order to safeguard the well-being of our precious crew, the vessel and the cargo onboard, we are monitoring the situation closely about the progress of the storm. The good news is that our crew is safe and in high spirits and well prepared to handle adverse weather situations.   We wish all crews of all ships in the area of Stom Ciarán as safe continuation of their journeys. #safetyatsea #chemicalshipping #APLA #stainlesssteel
