📣We’re excited to announce the launch of the €100 million LUMO Rise Fund! Over the next four years, we will invest in 30-35 European startups focused on the development and application of emerging digital technologies for a greener and stronger society. The capital allows us to diversify regionally and provide follow-on financing to increase the financial, social and environmental return on our investments. LUMO Rise Fund partners include Founding Partners Andy Lurling and Sven Bakkes and current Investment Manager Thomas Hannes. Anticipating the close of the LUMO Rise Fund, Dagmar van Ravenswaay Claasen and Sabine Schoorl MBA 🏳️🌈 joined LUMO Labs in December as Senior Partners. In addition to their expertise in climate action and sustainable cities and communities, Dagmar and Sabine will focus on impact and DEI strategies within the portfolio companies. 💪🏾 Financial institutions, family offices and high net worth Individuals from the Netherlands and other European countries have committed capital to LUMO Rise Fund, as have Dutch regional development agencies Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM), Oost NL and NV NOM/Investeringsfonds Groningen (IFG). Gisteravond zijn op de High Tech Campus in Eindhoven de winnaars bekendgemaakt van de tiende uitreiking van de 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐝 & 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 🏆. Deze naar de oprichters van Philips vernoemde prijs is bestemd voor de meest veelbelovende startups uit de regio Brainport Eindhoven. Van de 100 (oud-)winnaars van deze award zijn 85 startups nog actief. 7 zijn er overgenomen door andere bedrijven en slechts 8 hebben hun activiteiten moeten staken. Daarmee zijn deze startups ver bovengemiddeld succesvol. Met meer dan 300 bezoekers was het event groter dan ooit tevoren. En zoals presentatoren Beatrix Bos en Bert-Jan Woertman zeiden: “We hebben de laatste maanden terecht heel veel aandacht gehad voor de inhoud en consequenties van Project Beethoven. Maar nu is het tijd om het andante van die componist te laten opvolgen door het allegro van de startup community!” 🚀 De Gerard & Anton Awards is de jaarlijkse verkiezing van de tien meest kansrijke start-ups in de regio Brainport Eindhoven. Afgelopen woensdag organiseerden we voor onze partnercollega's in het Brabantse startupecosysteem een boeiende inspiratiesessie in Station88, waar Erik Stam en Joep Brouwers hun boek 'Zo Laat Je Ecosystemen voor Ondernemerschap Floreren' verder uitdiepten. Daarnaast verrijkte Bas van der Starre de middag met een toelichting op het gisteren gepubliceerde Birch rapport, die ons nieuwe perspectieven en praktische inzichten bood die we de komende tijd kunnen gaan toepassen. We sloten de tropische dag af met een heerlijke BBQ en borrel! 🌞 Dank aan de sprekers en alle aanwezigen voor deze leerzame middag. Samen laten we het ondernemerschap in Brabant bloeien! 🌱🚀
