Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of master students from the ATLAS - program at COAST - Analytical Science and Technology for a summer course on peptide and protein analysis. We were delighted to provide insights into the pharmaceutical industry, our sustainability initiatives, and to give them a tour of the Moleneind site. The students also presented impressive posters on circularity in the analytical lab and plastic recycling. By the end of the day, the students shared that they had gained valuable industry insights that aren't typically covered in university lectures. We were thrilled to receive positive feedback on our sustainability efforts. Overall, it was a fruitful and fun day for everyone involved. #Aspen API, #COAST, #education, #sustainability

Vandaag was de dag van de Techniek. Wat was het een succes! Aspen API was aanwezig met een tal van proefjes én onze eigen brandweer. Vooral de brandweerauto en het maken van slijm waren erg populair. We hebben zo’n 350 kinderen mogen enthousiasmeren voor ons mooie vakgebied en een aantal heeft zelfs een diploma voor “toekomstig wetenschapper” weten te bemachtigen! Wij hebben ontzettend genoten van de dag en willen alle deelnemers en vrijwilligers bedanken! #Dagvandetechniek #AspenAPI

It was an honor yesterday to join the visit of Minister Pia Dijkstra and other representatives at @Pivot Park in Oss. The visit allowed us to elaborate on the current challenges and solutions around drug shortages. Together with Ardena, AstraZeneca, BioConnection, Organon, Synthon and Pivot Park we had constructive discussions on how to improve the security of supply and what long-term perspectives there are to prevent this problem. It is encouraging to see a shared commitment to working on sustainable solutions that benefit healthcare. Our collaboration with other innovative companies and knowledge institutions at Pivot Park underscores the importance of a strong pharmaceutical supply chain. At Aspen API, we're committed to sustainable practices and reducing our environmental footprint. In 2023 we have purchased green electricity for all three of our locations in the Netherlands, resulting in a CO2 emission of 0 kton/year for our scope 2 emission. Although in 2023 a decline in electricity consumption is visible at our De Geer and Moleneind locations we continue to take energy-saving measures in our buildings and utilities in 2024 and years to come. Last year we communicated the improvement of one of our production processes which resulted in 142 tons less waste. We have continued to find ways to reduce our waste and have now increased our waste reduction to 400 tons on an annual basis! Can you imagine how many truck loads that is? Around 16! We're proud to contribute to a greener future while continuing to deliver top-quality products and services to our clients. Gisteren hebben wij de jaarlijkse Aspen Sportdag gehouden. Zo'n 250 medewerkers konden zich uitleven. Mountainbiken, hardlopen, body balance, dansen of bowlen stond in de middag op het programma. Daarna stond er een heerlijk Italiaans buffet voor ons klaar. Er werd afgesloten met het befaamde volleybal toernooi waaraan maar liefst 12 teams deelnamen. Het was mooi om te zien hoe fanatiek en sportief er werd gesport. Het team van de afdeling quality heeft de wisselbeker in de wacht gesleept 🙌. Proficiat! Dank jullie wel voor jullie deelname en inzet, het was top!

Happy World Water Day! At Aspen API, sustainability isn't just a buzzword – it's a commitment we live by every day. In honor of World Water Day, we're excited to share 3 projects in our journey towards environmental sustainability. 1. In our production process of Heparin Crude, we have achieved a remarkable reduction in water and energy consumption! Through meticulous analytical research, we have been able to standardize and halve the number of column rinses in our production process, without compromising product quality. 2. By connecting our demineralized water system to our steam generator system we have been able to reuse the demineralized water, which we used to dispose of, to feed our steamgenerators. 3. We also looked at our cooling towers and tailored the used capacity to the cooling demand, partly shutting down the installation, and finetuned the temperature controls resulting in yet another reduction in water consumption All these changes combined have led up to saving a minimum of 12 milion liters of drinking water anually! These achievements not only underscores our dedication to sustainability but also highlights the power of innovation and continuous improvement in driving positive change.
