Het is een feit dat schoon drinkwater niet vanzelfsprekend is, terwijl het dat wel zou moeten zijn. Zoals bijvoorbeeld de lucht die we inademen of het voedsel wat we eten. Om te voorkomen dat mensen door bacteriën in drinkwater ziek worden, zijn bijzondere maatregelen nodig die de drinkwaterleidingen vrijhouden van schadelijke bacteriën.
