From the beginning, I was assigned various tasks for both the deal and portfolio teams, and the flexibility in tackling assignments allowed me to think outside the box and be creative, which truly drives me. I quickly realized that an enthusiastic attitude is highly valued on this team, and I learned an incredible amount by working with colleagues who encouraged me to delve deeper into analyses. This experience wasn't just about work; the close-knit team was always eager to help, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to work directly with so many unique individuals." We are thrilled to announce that we have nominated a new Managing Director (MD) team after our investment in Brocolor in August 2023. Dr. Bernd Rohe joins Brocolor as the new Commercial & Technical MD, succeeding Albert Schokker. Bernd Rohe brings with him a remarkable track record in the pigments and fillers industry, along with expertise in applications, scale-up, production, process engineering and toll manufacturing. He will spearhead operations and strategic business development. Bernd, we are proud to welcome you to the team. Thank you to Nick Hammerschmid, Sjoerd Grubben and Luca Provenziani for your valuable contributions during your internships with us at Active Capital Company.🙏   Nick Hammerschmid   Throughout my five-month internship at Active Capital Company, I've had the privilege of working in a dynamic, welcoming, and fast-paced environment, diving into extensive financial analyses, and gaining valuable insights into the world of investments and multiple industries. From deal sourcing to portfolio work, each day presented new challenges that fueled my growth and passion for the finance industry. I'm immensely grateful for the mentorship I've received, which has helped me develop a deeper understanding of the complexities of transactions and initiatives within portfolio companies.   Sjoerd Grubben   In my internship, I had the opportunity to work closely with the deal team and the portfolio team. The balance between deal and portfolio work gave great insight into the all-encompassing work of Private Equity, with a steep learning curve. I gained valuable investment experience by analyzing various investment opportunities and working on a live deal up to an advanced stage, going through every aspect of the deal process. Moreover, I was able to gain experience with hands-on portfolio work through weekly visits at one of the portfolio companies. I enjoyed being part of the open, highly skilled team. The supportive team creates opportunities to learn and grow, while being actively involved. I was thrilled to join the Communication Training with the whole team, enhancing my ability to recognize and adapt to diverse communication styles for smoother interactions. I would like to thank the team of Active Capital Company for the valuable and exciting time I had.   Luca Provenziani   During my internship at Active Capital Company, I managed to achieve my personal objective of gaining first-hand experience in the Private Equity sector. Having had the opportunity to assist both the Deal and Portfolio Teams, I witnessed the rationale and complexities involved in the various phases of a Private Equity transaction. The exposure during this period has undoubtedly increased my understanding of the Private Equity landscape. In addition to the substantial learning curve during this experience, I am also thankful for the opportunity to have been part of a fun, professional, and hard-working team.

Gijs Bloemen: During my three-month internship at Active Capital Company, I had the opportunity to learn a great deal about Private Equity and hands-on investing. Prior to this experience, my knowledge in these areas was quite limited. However, due to the collaborative and fast-paced environment of the teams in the Netherlands and Germany, I rapidly expanded my understanding of Private Equity. Apart from the steep learning curve, I had a great time in the Amsterdam office with this amazing, affectionate team, where there was always room for jokes and fun. In conclusion, my experience at Active Capital Company was complete in all aspects. Sem de Boer: Throughout my 4 months at Active Capital Company, I had the chance to explore the world of Private Equity. Initially, I joined the deal team, engaging with captivating deals and mastering the art of assessing them as potential investments. These months gave me the opportunity to work closely with the deal team on a live deal, providing exposure to every aspect of the deal process. Later, I collaborated with the portfolio team on company projects, feeling the entrepreneurial vibe during the regular company visits. Being part of both the deal and portfolio team offers an experience that is invaluable for helping you to determine your specific interest within Finance. The consistent feedback and guidance from Active Capital Company steepened my learning curve, preparing me for a future career in Finance. In conclusion, the internship at Active Capital Company provides an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Private Equity while working with an exceptional team.
