“THE POWER OF A SIMPLE REPLY”. Christalove Agyin-Ayetse wrote: It is really frustrating to reach out to experienced professionals in my field, hoping for guidance or advice, only to see that my message has not even been read when sent on networking platforms like Linked and Instagram and my mail hasn't been answered. As someone who wants to be an ever evolving person, I've always valued the insights of those ahead of me, and I wonder why they do not reply. Now, I am not where I want to be, but I know I have made progress that calls attention and places the responsibility of being a helping hand to others on my shoulders, and I've made it a point to respond to every message I receive-whether it's for advice, networking, or career direction. I know what it feels like to be in those shoes, and I believe that a small gesture like a reply can go a long way in someone's journey. Let's remember to pay it forward, because no matter where we are in our careers, we all started somewhere. Your message matters. Your question deserves an answer. Your answer to the mail or dm matters and could be the tipping point in someone's journey. And as someone in these shoes, I know the power of a simple reply. Let's create a culture of support and mentorship. Pay it forward, and let's lift each other up! #seafarersmagazine #womeninmaritime #maritimeindustry #maritimecareers

I am for establishing the balance between life at sea and personal life for seafarers | WomenOffshore Mentee
MARRYING AS A SEAFARER (WOMEN) The question I mostly get whenever I mention that I am a seafarer is, ‘when will you marry and how will you go about it’ This sensitive topic includes not only women but men too It is a complicated subject that needs to be handled wisely As a young lady in this profession, I have no doubts that sooner or later, I will be finding myself in the marriage trend and as a concerned seafarer, I have decided to share the little I learnt from some who are already in the game of seafaring and marriage Before you say I do, make sure your to-be spouse understands your profession properly and is willing to be patient with you in times where it gets tough like contract extensions or in emergency situations where going home will delay There should be a mutual agreement on the fact that, you’ll mostly be absent for long periods of time Both should establish and keep an effective communication so as to update each other on what is going on in their lives Although heavily based on women, the men are not excluded from implementing the above advices Obviously, I do not know it all Kindly share with us the advice you have too, it’ll go a long way to help we the young ones in this profession #lifestylechange #personalgrowth #therightmindset #disciplineandconsistency #beobsessed #appsandtools #anythingmaritime #seafarers

I am not a seafarer but I did get to sail on a vessel for 24 hours - 6 years ago when I was working at Maersk Tankers. So in honor of seafarers day I wanted share a little about my experience on the vessel. I was blown away by the bridge and the amount of instruments it takes to navigate a ship. I got a tour to see how the crew works diligently to check the data daily. Ansd of course these vessels are sailing in complete darkness so it is truly amazing how they rely on technology to guide them. I also wanted to do a special call out to the women who are braving the rough seas and inspiring change mindset in global trade. Check out Seafarers' Magazine which highlights women in maritime - its super inspiring! #SeafarersDay #WomenInMaritime #globaltrade
