The platform includes an AI-assisted automated assessment and diagnosis tool that allows users to assess their condition and receive personalized recommendations for treatment. This tool provides convenience and cost-effectiveness by eliminating the need for in-person assessments. Virtual Consultations with Licensed Physiotherapists: One of the core features of Rehabify is the ability for users to schedule virtual consultations with licensed physiotherapists. This feature enables users to receive professional guidance, evaluation, and treatment recommendations from qualified physiotherapists without the need for physical visits. The virtual consultations provide flexibility and convenience, particularly for individuals with limited mobility or those in remote areas. Educational Resources and Support: Rehabify recognizes the importance of education and empowerment in the rehabilitation process. The platform offers users access to a variety of educational resources, including articles, videos, and exercise programs, to support their rehabilitation journey. These resources are designed to provide guidance, tips, and instructions for performing exercises correctly and efficiently, aiding in faster recovery and improved overall well-being. Additionally, the platform provides a supportive community where users can connect, share experiences, and seek advice from fellow individuals undergoing rehabilitation.

Yesterday, I joined Live from Lagos to deliver a lecture at the Obafemi Awolowo University, on "Rehabilitation, Technology and the evolving planet", for the IFUTSA OAU's Health Week Symposium. Think of rehabilitation after a knee or hip replacement. The six weeks after surgery are, particularly, very essential to the patients’ quality of life after they recover. And a major challenge, particularly in older patient populations, is patient compliance with their physiotherapy. One of the solutions is to use a technology-based intervention like wearable devices with sensors, that can basically give biofeedback to patients on whether they are doing their exercises correctly or whether their mobility has improved. I also used Rehabify as a case study, a rehabilitation digital platform currently being developed by some of our colleagues, that offers users to access their condition and receive personalized recommendations for treatment. There's a need to evolve in our Physiotherapy practice in Nigeria, perhaps, integrate and implement some of the many researches being conducted associated with the use of telerehabilitation and technology-based tools and models, in the delivery of physiotherapy services, offering new possibilities for patient care, creating customized treatment in addressing the specific individual health needs of our patients. The world needs us as Physiotherapists, and by extension, Rehabilitation Professionals. Technology is diverse, but it also needs a human to steer the tides of its affairs. #Telehealth #Telerehabilitation #Technology #Physiotherapy #Manualtherapy #Rehabilitation #interventionprograms #Healthweek #HealthTech #IFUTSA

Less than 20 days to launch 🚀 🥂 Are you aware that Rehabify offers an AI-assisted triage/symptom checker function? Essentially, patients can assess their pain-related symptoms prior to seeking medical attention. The system identifies red flags and directs patients to the nearest hospital in case of emergencies. Otherwise, it offers a likely diagnosis and facilitates connection with a physical therapist. Fascinating! 😊 P.S. We developed this system from the ground up, making it the first of its kind in West Africa.

Creating digital solutions for millions of Africans who need medical rehabilitation care| Co-Founder, Rehabify| Founder, PhysioAccess Initiative| Global Programs and Policy Officer, SRHIN

I vividly remember walking into my 8 am clinic appointment last month and assessing a patient who had survived a stroke. They had lived with the debilitating effects of the stroke for over 8 months without proper medical care. When we started the rehabilitation sessions, they struggled to keep up. The distance and the perception that their hospital lacked adequate rehabilitation care (due to long waiting times) had hindered their access to timely treatment. The reality is that there is only 1 physiotherapist for every 89,258 Nigerian in need of these services. Many individuals are left in the dark, neglected, and perceive rehabilitation as a luxury rather than a necessity. Sometimes, when I think about my patient, I'm reminded of the fact that countless individuals are unable to exercise their right to healthcare simply because these resources are not readily available or conveniently accessible. This situation serves as a continuous reminder and driver of the value that Rehabify brings, not only to my patients but also to healthcare providers like myself who strive to optimize recovery outcomes despite the odds stacked against access to care in Nigerian healthcare settings. As we celebrate #WorldHealthDay, I truly hope that many can recognize that healthcare is a fundamental right, and they can demand quality medical services like rehabilitation, which can promote their recovery. Rehabilitation is not a luxury reserved solely for athletes or older adults. Rehabify aims to reinforce this statement through digital solutions that make taking the first steps and the subsequent steps toward recovery easier and more accessible. Through our low-cost innovative platform, we are committed to bridging the gap in access to medical rehabilitation care, empowering people to reclaim their health, and enabling healthcare providers to deliver quality care to those in need, regardless of their circumstances. #Rehabilitation #HealthTech #DigitalHealth #PatientCenteredCare #Innovation #health
