𝗢𝗦𝗠-𝗔𝗗 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻'𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀' 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁-𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 "𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀" From July 23 to 25, 41 scholars from the OSM AD Foundation participated in a three-day summit, which faced the additional challenge of Typhoon Carina on the second day. During the summit, the scholars had the unique opportunity to learn directly from the leadership teams of OSM Thome and Nordic Medical Clinic, gaining valuable insights into their opportunities and how to prepare for their future professional careers. Additionally, the University of the Philippines Manila Debate Circle played a pivotal role in further honing the scholars' wit, competence, and character. Most of the scholars hailed from some of the country's most remote communities, carrying their dreams with them as they pursued further self-development. A few others are dependents of OSM Thome's rating crew and land-based employees, all of whom share a common desire to make a difference in their communities. The OSM Thome Compliance team and Learning and Development team have collaborated with the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) to organize webinars on the MACN course, "Stand Your Ground, Be A Leader." The first webinar session for crew on-board the vessels, held on 24th July 2024, saw participation from crew members under the technical management of OSM Thome Singapore (West) and Singapore (East) teams. The participants shared their experiences and had engaging discussions on the difficulties faced by the shipping industry and the crew on-board. The MACN speaker, Kasper Nielsen, emphasized the importance of “Reject, Review, and Report”: ✅Reject the demand for bribes and facilitation payments. ✅Review documentation requirements before making a port call. ✅Report all demands for bribes and facilitation payments. MACN also highlighted the Pre-arrival Notifications and HelpDesk tool, which can be valuable for the crew and onshore staff when making port calls at high-risk jurisdictions and facing demands for corruption. During the webinar, it was also emphasized that OSM Thome’s onshore team is always available to support the crew onboard the vessels. Crew members should always reach out to the designated person onshore (DPA), and the Vessel Manager for assistance when faced with any demands for bribery and facilitation payments. 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗢𝗙 (𝗡𝗕𝟵𝟱𝟬) 𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗠- 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗔𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲   Norwind Offshore proudly delivered Norwind Storm, a state-of-the-art offshore windfarm support vessel, four weeks ahead of schedule last July 18, 2024, and departed from Shipyard on July 22, 2024. Norwind Storm is one of five CSOVs in a series designed for Norwind by Vard Group.   The vessel, measuring 85 meters in length and 19.5 meters in beam, features a height-adjustable, 3D motion-compensated gangway with an elevator system, a height-adjustable boat landing system, and accommodations for up to 87 personnel. Designed to support modern offshore wind farm projects, Norwind Storm offers ample space for crew and equipment and is equipped for construction, operation, and maintenance tasks. The hybrid-powered vessel is ready for future fuels and enlarged battery packs and features Vard Electro's modern SeaQ bridge solution with an intuitive user interface and integrated systems for alarm, power management, and energy management. 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗦 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿: 𝗔 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗡𝗢𝗢𝗖 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗦𝗠 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 The delivery ceremony of the NS Explorer, the second shuttle tanker project for the Chinese National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), marked its successful completion at the DSIC shipyard in Dalian on 19th July 2024, meticulously constructed under the expert supervision of OSM Thome. The NS Explorer, a 155,000 DWT vessel, is equipped with state-of-the-art Kongsberg thrusters and the advanced MacGregor BLS systems and stands as one of the largest ships ever supervised and delivered by the OSM Thome site team led by Site Manager varghese nicholas. This event marks a significant milestone for CNOOC and OSM Thome and highlights the successful collaboration and high standards upheld by all parties involved in the project.
