Gravity Well
Xbox 360 gamepad highly recommended.
A top down spaceship shooter but instead of guns, you have access to a mobile gravity well that can push and pull enemy bullets, missiles, and asteroids. The enemy ships are equipped with antigravity measures, so your gravity well will have no direct effect on them. Watch out for green health packs when you take out an enemy combatant. Remember, your gravity well is only strong enough to hold a limited number of items at once so make sure to hurl them at enemies, use the repulsor to launch them at great speed, or just swing them around like a wrecking ball.
Oh, and most importantly, try not to die!
Default Controls - Keyboard / Xbox gamepad
- Move - WASD / Left Stick
- Move gravity well - Arrows / Right Stick
- Gravity well - Shift / Right Trigger
- Repulser well - Space / Left Trigger
- Pause - Esc / Start
Possible additions to be added at an undetermined future date
- Rebalanced difficulty
- Boss fights
- You will need to rip parts off a big ship or clog up its weapon ports with debris to defeat it

Favorite techniques are Repulsor Shield and Well Whirlwind. The former because it's basically a literal forcefield that's actually good and reflects projectiles while being a technique with little skill required. The latter because it satiates this deep need within to be a storm dragon and conjure hurricanes and just cruise around destroying everything.
Yes those names are made up because describing it is too long.
Well go spinny spinny
it took me a while to figure out that I could suck with shift, but once I did, it was EPIC.
I found myself having a hard time to control both the well and my ship sometimes. It was a bit hard to be precise when 'shooting' meteors. However, it's still fun and I think a few simple changes would make it even better.
Perhaps make the enemy more aggressive. It's quite easy to just survive and it would actually make killing the enemy faster if they followed you more. With Mouse and Keyboard, I feel using the mouse to aim the gravity well would be a bit more pleasant for me.
Great job ! It's really satisfying to see all the projectiles being thrown out of the gravity well when you release it. :)
Thanks for the kind words :)
I find it a lot more to play with a gamepad with 2 joysticks. It should be easy to add mouse, I'll try to do that in the near future. Thinking back on it, that would have been a better keyboard default.
I also want to add some aim assist to help launched items home in a bit if they're close enough to enemies.
Enjoyable game, but a bit too easy. I got over 10,000 points before I decided to end it. Some things you could adjust would be the damage of the enemies, or how long you can have the gravity well activated. There is no reason you shouldn't have it on at all times. Putting a restriction on it would introduce another level of complexity which I think would help the game be more interesting to play for longer.
Good luck in the jam!
Definitely agree, the damages and points that I assigned were very arbitrary mostly to get something there. I also think the gravity well should be limited somehow, not sure if that should be a cool down or ammo.
