Yinson is honoured to be appointed as an expert panel on the Climate Change Advisory Panel by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Sustainability. The Climate Change Advisory Panel serves to advise and guide the development of climate change policy, to ensure alignment with best practices, and the latest research and development in the field of climate change. The Advisory Panel will be advising Malaysia on the Conference of Parties (COP), to be held next at Baku, Azerbaijan in November this year. Yinson’s Group Head of Sustainability and representative to the Advisory Panel Dr Renard Siew commented on the appointment, “As an energy infrastructure company, Yinson believes in collective action to drive an inclusive energy transition. We look forward to working closely with other stakeholders to drive more positive climate impacts.”   Malaysia as a member party to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement has committed to a 45% greenhouse gas (GHG) intensity per gross domestic product (GDP) reduction by 2030, compared to 2005. We have an exciting update! In November 2023, Yinson and Inecosolar teamed up for a marine CSR initiative in Nusa Dua, Bali together with Bali Blue Harmoni and Yayasan Biodiversitas Pesisir dan Laut (YBPL). Using the innovative Mars Assisted Reef Restoration System (MARRS), the team transplanted 60 coral fragments onto four reef stars in YBPL’s coral garden. Yinson had the privilege of hosting School of Business at Monash University Malaysia students at the recent Malaysia Autoshow (MAS) 2024, which Yinson GreenTech was one of the exhibitors. The students were given an exclusive tour of the booth, showcasing Yinson GreenTech’s entire business segments, followed by a brief presentation into its business. A sharing session by Dr Renard Siew, Yinson’s Head of Corporate Sustainability, ensued and he expounded on Yinson’s sustainability journey and our commitment towards an inclusive energy transition. It was our indeed our joy to be able to expand their knowledge on Yinson GreenTech as it was one of the progressive green businesses in Malaysia that Prof Mohan Avvari of Monash University Malaysia highlighted.
