NIOSH Malaysia National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health Registered in June 1992, under Ministry of Human Resources. ‰The Board of Directors is the administrative body that makes policies and decisions and its members are individuals from government, unions and the industrial sector. NIOSH is ENTRUSTED to promote a Safe & Healthy Workplace and Workforce in Malaysia. ‰NIOSH is COMMITTED to assist Employers and Employees to manage Occupational Safety and Health ( OSH ) in their organisation effectively. ‰NIOSH is DEDICATED to provide Quality Solutions for OSH issues a professional manner, with a pragmatic approach which are reasonable and practicable. CORE activity (Training): 1. OSH Practitioners’ / General OSH 2. Certificated / Competency 3. In-house 4. Trainers 5. Conference and Seminar 6. Safety Induction System CORE activity (Consultancy): – Legal compliance • Chemical health risk assessment (CHRA), noise exposure monitoring and dust exposure monitoring. – Medico-technical services • Laboratory analysis and medical examination for industrial workers. – Customized training • On-shelf training module modified to suit the clients’ requirements. – OSH solutions • Gap analysis and establishment of the OSH Management System. CORE activity (Research and Development): – Research projects using external sources / research grants from government and private sector; – Supervision research projects for students in higher learning institutions; and – Article writing for journal publication. CORE activity (Information Dissemination): – OSH Exhibition • NIOSH Exhibition Centre, Mobile Exhibition Team, OSH Talk and Managing OSH Events / Campaigns. – Library • WiFi services, Online services: eMedia, LawNet, eSources, eBrary, Croner-i – Website and Forum • Provides useful information and community message board for discussion and sharing of OSH information.
