Yurivania 3: Circle of the Polycule
The stars are right ~~ so summon your long-distance partners for a midnight date!
Never's polycule has been chatting via magic mirror for months, but most of them haven't met in person. An upcoming eclipse is the perfect opportunity to summon them all to the Midnight Palace and go on a group date!
Now it's a matter of balancing all their schedules, carefully researching the right mystic glyphs, and invoking dread powers to bring everyone together!
Async flirting and remote emotional support are one thing, but will a mushroomgirl, slimemould, machinegirl, scarecrow, mystery witch, and void-horror all get along face-to-face?? They will if Never has anything to say about it! ๐งโโ๏ธ๐ช

This is my entry to Yuri Jam 2023, set in the same world as Yurivania 0, Yurivania 1, and Yurivania 2.
You don't have to play the earlier games to enjoy this one.
If you find any bugs, please let me know and I'll do my best to fix them! ๐

Known Issues
- The Moon sometimes fails to load during the eclipse cutscene! ๐ญ
- I'd like to fix this, but it's an engine issue and I haven't found the cause just yet.
- Related: Items such as the bonus recipe scrolls sometimes do not spawn on entering a new area.
- As a workaround, walking away and coming back usually causes them to spawn.
- Ideally, Cedar should give a different telepathic hint once you've finished helping Mirna.
- This isn't a major issue and will be non-trivial to implement so I'm not sure if I'll get there.
- Stairs are glitchy.
- Unlikely to fix; would require major engine changes. If you have trouble, I recommend ascending stairs at a run.
- Standing near NPCs sometimes prevents jumping.
- Unlikely to fix; would require major engine changes. Try backing up or facing away from the NPC before jumping.

Ok so, how am i supposed to get the scroll in vampire quarter and sewer?
- - - - -
... ending so leeeewwd.
Thanks for playing super far! To get both those scrolls:
How to get Last Scrolls
1. Return to the Glassy Tarn. Underneath the lake, find an exit on the lower right.2. Follow the passage till you find the Mermaid's house.
3. Meditate by the bubble fountain to gain the insight to fly.
4. Return the the Vampire Quarters and use flight to get the scroll there.
5. Go the Abyssal Subterrane and walk all the way to the right to the black dropoff.
6. Fly up. Find the scroll at the end of a passage to the left of the dropoff.
Let me know if you run into any trouble!
I am literaly too dumb to listen the lesbian mermaid near the obvious fountain. ๐คฆ
really fun but oh god the controls terrify me. how am i supposed to use alt and arrow keys oh god (im sorry im just complaining because i cant just use my mouse or click)
Haha, fair enough! Perhaps one day weโll have a viable mouse interface for old school platformers :)
Took me a while to get around to play this, but it is quite fun as one would expect.
spoilers:
there's a bug in the chaotic realm that results in the ability to fly despite text implying that you shouldn't be able to do this, kinda trivializes the platforming puzzle.
Oh gosh, thanks for the bug report โ will definitely fix this!
Oh man, I was playing for a good couple hours and didn't realize how late it'd gotten, but I had to keep going and finish it. This was so good!!! I can't believe you did so much for this jam, I now see why your previous games were bangers, and also ones I definitely wanna play once I get the chance.
There was so much I loved. The characters, the huuuge map full of cute npcs and interactions, the mechanic of slowly learning how to build the summoning circle, and of course the ending and the polycule in general. It was so warm and nice and I had an absolute blast with it.
It really made me feel that I'd love to live in a world like that. Consider me a fan, and I'll make sure to follow you for future stuff, and also to play your earlier games at some point.
Oh wow, thank you so much!!! โจ
Iโm really glad you enjoyed it. It sounds like you got out of it exactly what I was going for ๐
The prior games are not nearly so long as this one โ I got very carried away on this, haha ๐
