Are you chasing checkboxes or building a legacy? I didn't understand the difference between an outcome and an impact until I attended Thor’s “Owning Your Impact” workshop. It turns out that outcomes are measurable results that often keep us busy but don’t necessarily lead us toward our ultimate goal. Impact, on the other hand, is profound. It’s about serving something bigger than ourselves. Thor stressed the importance of communicating your desired impact. This clarity adds purpose and direction, inspiring your employees, teammates, or clients far more than just listing outcomes. My "aha" moment was that I was focusing on the means, not the end. Mindful Tech Tribe was one idea, but my desired impact is bigger—serving those creating tech for good using my communication and community-building skills. Now, with LinkedIn Branding for Tech Leaders I help companies and founders authentically share their contributions on LinkedIn. Are you impact-driven and work in the field of Data and AI? Let me help you amplify your voice 🔊 #TechForGood #OwningYourImpact — Thank you Thor Steven Young 🏳️🌈 for organizing such an intimate session. Thank you everyone for sharing. Thank you HAAB Project for hosting.

LinkedIn Personal & Employer Branding for Tech Leaders

I no longer believe in pursuing a business at any cost. This is not an easy line to swallow. However, after many failed attempts or recognizing an unprofitable business model, stopping is not a failure. This is how I came to this conclusion: Seven months ago, I quit my life in the Netherlands to build a coliving for remote tech workers in Mexico. For me, Mindful Tech Tribe was much more than a business. It was a vision for a lifestyle centered around community and well-being. When the first property didn’t work out, I didn’t give up. I moved to Mexico City for opportunities, knocked on hotel doors, messaged Airbnb hosts, and even tried using my cousin's house. After five different versions, my final attempt failed last week. I dwelled on it but realized I couldn't risk my life savings by continuing to try right now. So, I’ve decided to dust myself off and look ahead—or actually—back. It's time to fully embrace the platform that has been there for me all along: LinkedIn and more specifically, branding for the tech community. It has changed my life for th better many times and there is plenty of evidence that points towards this direction. So I am back. For REALS this time! 🚀 Sharing this publicly isn’t easy, but I hope to create a space for open discussion. Have you ever been glad that you stopped (or put on hold) a business?

Over the last few months, I've learned that entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint. As a result, I've recognized that my skills can have a greater impact at a tech company right now – so I'm excited to find a new job! 🎯 After almost 10 years in Europe, I'm looking for opportunities in Mexico (or with a company planning to expand here) in roles such as: ✔️ Community Manager ✔️ Business Development ✔️ Content Marketing ✔️ Event Planning 📈 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬: Data and AI Consultancy: As a Technical Recruiter, I tripled the hiring rate of data engineers, hosted monthly tech meetups with up to 100 guests, boosted our junior program's applicant numbers from 50 to 400 per month through employer branding, and pioneered several DEI initiatives. Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship: As a Community Manager, I led the team that laid the foundation for expanding our innovation hub into another city. We successfully planned and executed 10 events, building a community of over 250 members. 🚀 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬: Mindful Tech Tribe: Founded a coliving and coworking that aimed at improving the well-being of remote tech professionals. LinkedIn Coaching: Help tech founders optimize their profiles and build their personal brands through consistent content creation. To summarize, building and nurturing online and in-person relationships is what I do best. ✔️ If you are hiring, send me a message! ✔️ If you know someone who is, please tag them or share this post. Help a girl pivot back into the workforce! #jobhunting #techjobs #mexicocity

Combining technology, spirituality, and social impact might seem counterintuitive. Yet the Wisdom 2.0 conference in San Francisco bridges these worlds in such an intuitive way, with its mission to help humanity live with awareness and wisdom in our technology-rich age. When I started Mindful Tech Tribe, I sometimes wondered if I was crazy to try blending mindfulness with technology. But during my research, I discovered this community, and I feel very grateful to have received a scholarship to attend this year. #ThankYou🙏 The conference not only echoed my questions but also expanded my thinking with sessions like the ones you can see in the photos ⬇️. The lineup included incredible psychologists, scientists, and engineers. I appreciated that the content was scientifically grounded, and didn’t get overly esoteric 😅. I am more certain than ever that we can - and should - make mindfulness mainstream in the tech world. If you think that you’re weird for being interested in the intersection of these topics - you are not alone. Join this community.

I almost didn’t make it through US immigration because the officers didn't understand my business. Just landed in San Francisco and faced the infamous question: "Are you here for business or leisure?" I answered, "Business," and mentioned I was attending a conference called Wisdom 2.0. "What's it about?" he asked. "Tech and spirituality," I said. The officer was suspicious that I might try to stay in the county, even warning me, “You better get on that plane back to Mexico”. But he let me through. *** 🙄 *** I was stopped again shortly after and this officer was asking more questions about my business. So I told him about Mindful Tech Tribe because I have a website and it’s a physical project (that I’ve pivoted but they didn’t need to know that). At this point he was asking lots of questions, mostly out of curiosity. "Is all this I’m telling you that strange?" I asked. He said he'd never heard of anything like it before – the combination of tech with spirituality, and the whole coliving concept. My first time dealing with U.S. immigration as a business owner felt like making a business pitch! They eventually let me through. So, who’s in SF? Let’s meet up! I’m in Hayes Valley today.

When I asked Alicia Bargar about the lack of tech-for-good initiatives, she responded with an insightful counter-question: “What if we shifted our focus from solving problems to imagining and creating from a place of inspiration?” She emphasized that to realize this vision, we need teams that bring together engineers, policymakers, artists, and anyone else who wants to imagine a better future. By blending technical skills with creativity and strategy, we can broaden the range of ideas, creating spaces of true innovation. I still remember interviewing Alicia in Amsterdam for one of our engineering teams. I’m glad that she became a friend, and we got to have this conversation in the streets of Mexico City. How do you think we can foster more tech-for-good initiatives? #TechForGood #MultidisciplinaryTeams #Innovation

I couldn't build my coliving right now... so I moved into somebody else's. At first, I was disappointed. But now, I realize that it was a blessing in disguise. First, because I have never lived in a coliving space, and it is one thing to imagine something and another to actually experience it. Second, I'm using this time to validate whether this is really what I want to do in the future. Maybe I'll discover that it's too hospitality-heavy for my liking. Or maybe I'll find that my original idea was right, and this is exactly what I'm passionate about. Through this experience, I hope to learn what works, what doesn't, and what I truly want. P.S. I went shopping for this little workspace yesterday. Do you have a special room where you brought your startup to life in the early days?

LinkedIn Personal & Employer Branding for Tech Leaders

Yesterday evening, I arrived in Mexico City, downsizing from 7 to 3 suitcases. Since leaving the Netherlands, every step has been a major decision. At first it sucked, but I have slowly embraced the power of decision-making, realizing that it’s all part of the journey towards creating the life I want. In December, I returned to my hometown with the plan to transform the family property into a coliving/coworking space. However, working with family presented challenges… Which is why I made the decision to pivot and focus on building Mindful Tech Tribe as an online community. So, I went to live with my sister to strategize my next move. I then decided to move to Mexico City because it’s a much better place to network than Queretaro. While I build and monetize the online community, I've decided to offer LinkedIn coaching for tech founders, helping them with personal and employer branding. To all my fellow dreamers, remember that it's okay to pivot, downsize, and rethink your path. And to those in Mexico City, I'm excited to network and explore this incredible city with you!
