Women Leaders in Science - Julia Sibiya Julia Sibiya is an Associate Professor in Plant Breeding and the current Dean and Acting Head of the School of Agricultural, Earth, and Environmental Sciences (SAEES), and the Co-Director of the Centre for Transformative Agricultural and Food Systems of the at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Sibiya is also a consultant for the CIMMYT-led Vision for Adapted Crops and Soils (VACS), an initiative supported by the United States Department of State, the African Union, and the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization for fostering resilient agrifood systems across Africa. In addition, she serves on the oversight committee of the VACS Breeding team, the One CGIAR Collaborative Breeding Leadership Program (CBLP) steering team, and is a member the Borlaug Training Foundation Advocate team.
