About Stonebwoy
One of Africa’s biggest dancehall artists, Stonebwoy’s songs have resonated far beyond his native Ghana. ∙ Stonebwoy scored his first hits in 2012 with “Climax” and “Ghetto Love,” both of which were nominated for Ghana Music Awards. ∙ In 2015, he was named Best International Act at the BET Awards, and he also won the first of four straight Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year honors at the Ghana Music Awards. ∙ He guested on “Reggae Night,” the closing track from Jamaican reggae group Morgan Heritage’s Grammy-nominated 2017 album, Avrakedabra. ∙ When his LP Epistles of Mama debuted at No. 13 on the World Albums chart, Stonebwoy became the first-ever Ghanaian artist to land on a Billboard chart. ∙ “Nominate,” the lead single from his 2020 album, Anloga Junction, featured R&B singer Keri Hilson and reached No. 19 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart. ∙ Among his many collaborations, he has teamed up with such dancehall icons as Sean Paul, Beenie Man, and Collie Buddz, along with fellow African star Burna Boy. ∙ The internationally renowned music website Reggaeville named Angola Junction Album of the Year for 2020.
