Chief Keef crashed into the mainstream as a pistol-packing 16-year-old, with hard-angled hits that reflected the troubled backdrop in which they were forged. Chicago drill bangers “I Don't Like” and “Love Sosa” are full of stern synths and smashing drums, but as Keef's matured he's also added a subtler, creepier wrinkle to his typically aggressive sound, using bled-dry vocals over low-key beats and twinkling piano loops on “Sosa Chamberlain”. He mixes things up even further with tracks like “Love No Thotties”, its gaudy electronics and triumphant percussion providing a vibrant counterpoint to his grim delivery.
