About YoungBloodZ
The Atlanta rap duo YoungBloodZ were key figures during their city’s crunk era. • Sean P and J-Bo met as students at Miller Grove Middle School in Decatur, Georgia. They formed YoungBloodZ in 1997. • The duo was part of local rap/production collective known as the Attic, which brought them to the attention of LaFace Records in the late ’90s. • In 1999, YoungBloodZ released their debut album, Against da Grain, which features guest spots from Lil Wayne and Big Boi of OutKast, among others. • Their 2003 single “Damn!” (from Drankin’ Patnaz) peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. It remains their biggest pop hit. • Sean P guested on frequent collaborator Lil Jon’s 2006 single “Snap Yo Fingers,” which topped Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and reached No. 7 on the Hot 100. • In 2008, J-Bo released his solo debut album, Atl's Finest. • After a hiatus, the duo reunited for the 2020 single “Trippy S**t.”
