About Carl Carlton
Detroit R&B vocalist Carl Carlton earned some minor chart hits for Back Beat in the late '60s and early '70s. His biggest hit was "She's a Bad Mama Jama" for 20th Century, which earned him a gold record in 1981 and had the odd distinction of remaining at number two for eight straight weeks.
