John Victor Morais

John Victor Morais (lahir 1910 - 6 Mac 1991) merupakan, wartawan, penulis banyak buku tentang Malaysia.

Beliau dilahirkan di Trivandrum (nama lama Thiruvananthapuram),Kerala, selatan India tetapi bersekolah di Sekolah Menengah Anderson, Ipoh, Perak dan Regent Institute, London. Beliau naik kapal SS Rajula dari Pelabuhan Trivandrum menuju ke Tanah Melayu pada 1927.

Isterinya Gladys dan mereka mempunyai lima anak iaitu Herbert, Benedict, Elaine, Dawn dan Justin dan lapan orang cucu. Mereka tinggal di No 2, Jalan 5/7A, Petaling Jaya. Anaknya Dr Dawn Morais sambung belajar peringkat PhD jurusan bahasa Inggeris di University of Hawaii.

Kerjaya

Beliau menjadi pengurus editor , Malaya Tribune (1939-1951), editor Daily News, Ipoh (1951-1952), Ketua sub editor Malay Mail , Kuala Lumpur (1955-1959), Ahli lembaga Tabung Hospital Lady Templer (1960-1967).

Victor Morais pernah menjadi Perunding eskekutif negeri Perak dan Presiden Kelab Akhbar Perak , Rotary Club Ipoh, Persatuan India Kinta dan Persatuan India Selangor. Beliau juga ahli lembaga Majlis Perbandaran Petaling Jaya.

Meninggal dunia

Victor Morais meninggal dunia pada 6 Mac 1991 dan majlis pengkebumian diadakan di Gereja Asssumption Church, Petaling Jaya pada 7 Mac 1991.
