Carl W. Ernst
Carl W. Ernst (lahir 8 September 1950, Los Angeles, California)[1] adalah Profesor Terhormat Kenan pengajian Islam di Jabatan Pengajian Agama University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.[2] Beliau juga merupakan pengarah Carolina Center for the Study of the Middle East and Muslim Civilizations.[3]
Ernst menerima A.B. beliau dalam perbandingan agama di Universiti Stanford pada 1973, dan Ph.D. di Universiti Harvard pada 1981.[3] Beliau kemudian mengajar di Kolej Pomona antara 1981 dan 1992.[4]
Bukunya Following Muhammad: Rethinking Islam in the Contemporary World (UNC Press, 2003), telah menerima beberapa anugerah antarabangsa, termasuk Bashrahil Prize for Outstanding Cultural Achievement pada 2004.[3]
