📌 Today in MEMO DOOEL Skopje, the handover of the position of CEO of the National Electricity Market Operator- MEMO took place between the outgoing CEO, Simon Shutinoski, and the newly appointed CEO of the National Electricity Market Operator, Zoran Gjorgjievski. 🤝 Shutinoski wished Gjorgjievski successful work, and the realization of upcoming projects aimed at further modernizing the electricity market operator, which includes the Macedonian power exchange. Gjorgjievski expressed his gratitude to Shutinoski for their collaboration and announced that he will work honestly and be dedicated to developing the Macedonian electricity market in all its segments. Shutinoski held the position of Director of the Subsidiary – Electricity Market Operator and Member of the Management Board of JSC MEPSO from 2017 to 2019 and was the CEO of MEMO DOOEL Skopje since its establishment in 2019. Gjorgjievski brings extensive experience to his new role. He has been part of the electricity market operator since 2014, and since the establishment of MEMO, he has managed the department for the organized electricity market. #MEMO #power #trading #dayaheadmarket

📈 A working meeting was held at the premises of the National Electricity Market Operator (MEMO) with representatives from USAID and the Connect for Growth (C4G) project. 📍 The meeting discussed MEMO activities supported by USAID within the regional project - Energy bridge and Connect for growth-C4G, which aims to achieve market coupling of the power exchanges between Greece, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania in order to access the single European electricity market. ✅ The contribution of MEMO in the implementation of the project and the efforts for the successful realization of market coupling were emphasized. ✅ Productive meeting with Peter Holicza Ph.D. Deputy State Secretary for EU Affairs & International Relations at the Ministry of Energy in Budapest. The focus of the discussion was on the benefits of the functioning of the Macedonian power exchange and its integration with the single European electricity market. 🌏 The importance of market coupling with the power exchanges from the neighbouring countries especially from the member states of the European Union was emphasized. ✅ Continuous cooperation between the National Electricity Market Operator - MEMO and the Energy Community. Simon Shutinoski, CEO of MEMO, held bilateral meeting with Artur Lorkowski, Director of the Energy Community, who presented the 2023 Energy Community Implementation Report in the Macedonian Assembly, yesterday. 🌐 At the meeting, the benefits of organized electricity trading and the projects of the Macedonian power exchange for market coupling with the single European electricity market were emphasized. Director Artur Lorkowski welcomed the institution's commitment to implementing necessary reforms to modernize the energy sector, as well as current projects aimed at coupling the Macedonian electricity market with the neighboring power exchanges. ♻ In the coming period, it is necessary to transpose the European regulations into Macedonian legislation, a process in which MEMO is actively involved.
