A downloadable game for Windows
John McIntern has their first day at NASA, I'm sure nothing bad will happen.
OOPS FORGOT THE PCK FILE. That's what I get for doing this at 3AM I guess, a shame but isn't the real game the friends we made along the way?
Made for Acerola jam 0, in about 2 days because my first idea died.
My initial idea was a puzzle-platformer that spans multiple application windows inspired by a tutorial I saw. This was a great idea, except not at all because this is my first time using any game engine and also the way I implemented it allowed players to cheese every level by definition. Great to immediately get familiar with the importance of playtesting :). I might still finish that idea, but outside a deadline so I can take my time balancing the main mechanic.
The game I actually submitted (this one) started life a couple days before the deadline, inspired by a recent Matt Parker video and the Telecommunications course I took last year. I wrote some code on Monday and Tuesday for the 2D slider and displaying the waveform. The rest of the code and everything else was done on Wednesday (was up until 3AM, I am great at planning). The 'dialogue' was incredibly rushed, well past midnight with a tipsy friend in voicechat, so don't pay too much attention to it.
I'm not sure if I'm happy with the result, it feels generic and it's somewhat tedious. On the other hand it is a complete game, which is an achievement in and of itself for being my first game made in 2 days. I'm mostly just glad I submitted something, and learned how to use Godot.
All code and assets (except fonts) by me. Sound by null. (there is no sound)
Fonts used: Khand, Ninepin and the Godot default font.
