Reply to your statement about RFC referrer discussion
[edit]Hello. I read your response at w:Wikipedia talk:Village pump (policy)/RfC: Wikimedia referrer policy. Frankly, I understand your points, including the fourth one, about risking a policy change, i.e. initiating silent referrer. Still, the majority favored the silent referrer option. I suggested at w:User talk:Guy Macon/Proposals/Referrer proposing either one or multiple user options via user preferences to disable/opt-out silent referrer info. If policy change is impossible, where and when can I propose adding another option into user preferences? Can it be local venue or this year's upcoming Community Wishlist? --George Ho (talk) 23:49, 6 September 2017 (UTC); corrected, 02:06, 7 September 2017 (UTC)
- Related question: Many other people use the same wiki software that we do. Do they have a configuration option for silent referrer? If not, can that optiion be added? --Guy Macon (talk) 18:52, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
