Talk:P2P
Add topicp2pedia should not be wikipedia
[edit]Instead of try to push wikipedia into a p2p context I think we should design p2pedia from the ground up as an p2p app.
I think we should also look at distributed revision control systems. like Gnu Arch, Bazaar and etc.
Consider the following user case: I open the p2pedia app and search for electrodynamics. Then a list of article folders which contain electrodynamics in the title shows up.
- Electrodynamics
- Ampereian electrodynamics
- Quaternionic electrodynamics
- etc.
I open the folder called quaternionic electrodynamics which list the different revisions of the quaternionic electrodynamics article. here I can sort it by revision date, numbers of peers, etc. But I chose to open the revision tree view where I can see how the revisions branch out with the lates revision at top and the peer number showed as the size of the node.
I download a couple of the latest revisions and check the difference then I read one of them.
After the reading I start to edit the revision I like best.
I add some equations and some graphs and pack it up and publich my revision.
Now, other peers can see a new revision of the article.
The article should be stored in a ebook format, I think it should just be a set of w3o complient documents, and multimedia objects packed in a Eet file http://www.enlightenment.org/Libraries/Eet/ In such a way that every file/article make a mini website. --Equanimous2 20:48, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
I was thinking about adding these to the external links...
[edit]Might they be appropriate?
- Off-System
- Open DHT - open distributed hash table
