I request sysop access on yo.wikipedia:

Thank you. Freddie Mercury 20:08, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Granted. Because it is a dead wiki I have made you sysop. It is good that you are willing to keep an eay on that wiki. --Walter 11:27, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

pag.wikipedia.org

I request sysop status so that I can translate the main page for pag.wikipedia.org.

mo.wiki

Following a vote and community approval by 3 out of 4 active users (4th active user didn't vote), I would like to request adminship on mo.wiki so that I can clean vandalism, ban vandals, and the like, because our current admin is inactive on mo.wiki. I also have a vote for bureaucrat, and if that succeeds I shall request that soon. --Node ue 02:59, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Something isn't good in there: see page history. The page has an edit war. A day or two ago when I checked it I saw no mention about minimum contribution and many oppose votes. What to think now? Please do not start a debate here, neither in my user page. Also, I see no relevance to an administrator following the vote to close down this Wikipedia. --Romihaitza 07:32, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi Mihai, please see http://mo.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Administrator&diff=next&oldid=11127 -- the reason you saw no mention about any length of vote, or minimum contribution, and many oppose votes, is because Bonaparte edited the rules after the vote ended, and then he went to many places to notify inactive mo.wp'ans that a vote was occurring so they would come and vote. This is similar to inviting immigrants home to participate in an election. All active users voted on time, except Bonaparte. The reason I set the deadline so tight was so that Bonaparte would not have time to spread word to non-mo.wikipedians, as he has done with every vote and issue so far. Please see here, where he notifies Danutz, in an effort to stack a mo.wp vote using Romanian Wikipedians. --Node ue 09:39, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Request postponed until the process at Proposals_for_closing_projects finishes. -Romihaitza 08:33, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Nevermind, I am changing this for a request for w:mo:User:Moldova to be made bureaucrat. His nomination is less controversial. Check the page history, you will see: [2] never, at any point, did he have more than one oppose vote. People have blanked the page, yes, but other than Bonaparte, nobody has voted against him yet. And bonaparte shouldn't have a say, because of his constant user-page vandalism. (see w:mo:User:Sulica rus for an example of his pagemove vandalism) --Node ue 05:14, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

You mean you proposed to be made a bureaucrat a proved user that had socks? http://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Proposals_for_closing_projects&diff=378808&oldid=378802 For God sake where do you think you are? You lost all your credibility...--Fratele lui Bonaparte, il cunosti? 05:36, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Bonaparte, that's irrelevant. He won the election, and I, for one, believe he was framed. And so what if he had socks? You proposed YOURSELF for admin of mo.wiki, y Dios sabe que no tienes sockpuppets lol --Node ue 06:25, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
I've actually already talked with Jon on the matter. He said it's fine as long as the sockpuppet remains inactive, and it will! mo:User:Moldova

Kapampangan Wikipedia

I wish to request bureaucrat status on pam.wikipedia on the Kapampangan Wikipedia for myself and for Val2397

The Wikipedia has been the object of vandalism, and none of the users has any admnistrative authority. There is also the need to translate the interface and make revisions. Thank you. Katimawan2005 08:25:39 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, the Local Request Link should point to a page that records a votation in which the local community of users showed support to your candidature. --Snowdog 07:51, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
I've corrected the link above. The Local Request Link now points to a page where the community can vote approval/support of both users as bureaucrats as well as submit other nominations for bureaucrats and administrators. I support the nominations of both users Katimawan2005 and Val2397 as Bureaucrats for the Kapampangan Wikipedia. --Harvzsf 05:39, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

I would request the administrative tools for my english wikipedia account stated above. As of this report, I have 15, 194 edits in total with an even distribution across many namespaces. I have previously had three failed nominations for the administrative capabilities which can be viewed at the first nomination, the second and the most recent. I believe I've met the concerns raised by many of my critics in my nomination attempts as well having a sufficient amount of experience with the policies and the goals of wikipedia. I am currently nearing my second year as an established contributor. However, I must conceed I do not feel confident in my charisma to pass the rfa placed before the community.

I would prefer the tools for general grunt work similar to my ethic exhibited in mainspace, such as clearing out inapropriate fair use imagery after the seven day period, answering to requests of administrative action, clearing out various backlogs and the bypassing of pagemoves to apropriate venues. I think my sucessful editting history and general advocacy is proof of good decision making skills and would be welcome as an adminstrator. -Zerotalk 16:26, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

I am sorry. There is no such possibility. As stewards we can't grant adminships on project with bureaucrats. Anyway, I don't think any English Wikipedia Bureaucrat will grant you without Rfa. -Romihaitza 16:37, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

He speaks completely badly Albanian, exactly the same as also the two current other administrators Ko.S.ystem.OV@ and Bet 0 from Albanian Wikipedia. I am convinced that up to now none of administrators is able, to speak the official Albanian language correctly. They speak a dialect that for each citizen Albanian is to be understood with difficulty. AlbInfo english

Bormalagurski@srwiki

  • We have started with a procedure to desysop user Bormalagurski for abusing his admin rights for a long time now and for bad overall behavior on many Wikimedia projects. The voting will last one week after which the decision will be made. Additionally, he was blocked with a note that if he unblocks himself, his rights would be removed almost instantaneously by a steward. I will report back after the voting procedure is over or if we have an undeniable consensus before the deadline. Thanks. --Filip (§) 22:41, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Please request here after the vote! -Romihaitza 07:13, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
One week has passed and here are the results: 25 users are in favor of desysoping, 7 are against and 3 are abstained/neutral. The Serbian page is here. If we count the neutral, there is 71.43% in favor of desysoping. Otherwise, the outcome amounts to 78.125%. Since Serbian Wikipedia has no policy regarding desysoping, we are obliged to take the general voting policy into consideration. Since the policy states that a voting is valid if there is at least 70% in favor, I pronounce this voting valid. I have to add that many other wikipedias require much smaller percentages for things like this. Anyway, I hereby ask that both administrator and bureaucrat rights be taken away from Bormalagurski. The current policy also states that (since the outcome was between 70% and 80%) the voting should be repeated in the next few months. The voting will be repeated in a way that Bormalagurski will yet again go through a procedure of becoming a sysop. Thanks --Filip (§) 22:15, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

They are broken usual policy which is 80% against 20% in all cases that we have. They are used general policy which also has 80% against 20% in order to put something on voting. That general policy for proposals had after 80% against 20% in order for something to be proposal and second round for 70 against 30%. They used that trick in order to abolish overall policy of 80% against 20%. I warned them many times today. Overall more than 20% of voters are aginst proposal, so they are breaking rules.Verlor--212.200.201.247 22:33, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

I was asked to correct myself, because I seem to have misunderstood the policy. Namely, 70% and above means that the voting was successful fully. My apologies. That means that the adminship request process doesn't have to be repeated in a few months. On the other hand, what Verlor states here is an unwritten rule that was never obeyed fully. The written rules imply that the outcome of over 70% is absolutely valid. Thanks --Filip (§) 22:48, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

That general rule is also 80% against 20% for something to be proposal at all. They needed according to that rule first to put on voting wheather we want to vote to desysop bormalagurski. They are clearly broken first part of that rule. First you have to get 80% for something to be proposal. They broken our rules..Verlor --212.200.201.247 23:00, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

That doesn't refer to "Request for adminship" page where 80% support for starting a voting was never required. If you think it was indeed required, then your adminship (which was started the same way) isn't valid. Therefore, we can scrap this voting and you can resign as an administrator. --Filip (§) 23:06, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Request for adminship had they own rules of 80% without need to vote for start .Same for super article that needed 80% without need to vote for start . All other voting had rules to start 80%. Always first voting needed 80%.Verlor--212.200.201.247 23:19, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Since this is the reverse of "Request for adminship", same rules should apply. Therefore, you don't need the voting to start it. --Filip (§) 23:21, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
If same rules like you said apply than rules for desysop are just like rules for "Request for adminship", that means 80% against 20%. Please read what Philip said, so he explained why to use 20%, because it is reverse of "Request for adminship". With these words he explained very good policy of serbian wikipedia.--212.200.201.247 23:29, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
"80% against 20%" isn't a rule for adminship. The only reference can be found at a page that one admin made by himself, never reaching consensus. I.e. it's not a policy that Goldfinger wrote that 80% is enough. I never even knew that that "rule" existed. Since that's not a policy, we must rely on the existing one (which states that 70% in favor is ok). I'm done with reasoning. This was a fair vote (with a couple of solicited votes from Boris, but let's not get into that) and I've brought here only facts. The policies we have aren't as clear as they can (but they do prove that 70% is enough), but there is certainly a majority of the community that wants the user desysoped. Over and out. --Filip (§) 23:34, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
80% against 20%" is а rule mentioned hundred times on serbian wikipedia. During this voting was also mentioned many times. Never Philip said that 80% against 20% is not rule. Nobody said on whole page that that is nor rule. It is simple to check. Philip knew very well these facts.--212.200.201.247 23:39, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
In all voting for administrators we followed 80% against 20% rule.Verlor--212.200.201.247 23:59, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

I cannot post anything now since I no longer have access to the account (changed the password and threw it away) but since I did make a statement with that delete note saying I was leaving that should be sufficient to desysop. Homey12:37, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

There is some disagreement whether Homey has left permanently or is just on wikibreak until early September. There are a few editors who really want to "get" him so it might be best to wait two months and if he doesn't return then remove sysop access just in case this is a hoax.

Yes, it is me, just check the deletion note on my user page.Homey04:13, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
That has no value. It is placed by an anon. Put a singed comment on that talk page that you wish to be de-sysoped or stop wasting our time. --Walter 12:14, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
You need to prove you're that user. You're not even signed in on meta, and I'm assuming you do have an account here considering this: Meta:Requests for adminship#User:Homey. Angela 13:21, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
I have removed sysop-status from this account. After consultation with w:en:User:Dmcdevit as local checkuser on EN I am convinced that this anonymous users is the rightful owner of the account w:en:user:Homey. This user claims that he has not longer access to that account and that he suspects that there is a security problem, that account can be compromised. On request of the user and for Wikipedia security sysop-status is removed from that account. --Walter 22:25, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

RadioKirk@enwiki

I too am leaving Wikipedia, and would like my sysop access removed, thanks. RadioKirk

CyeZ@nlwiki

On nl.wikipedia we have had our annual sysop-confirmation. I am bureaucrat on nl and I was active in this procedure. As result of a vote user CyeZ has to be removed as sysop. The voting-page can be found here. Chris 23:23, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Petr_Tomasovsky@eowiki

I am as a sysop on Eo-Wiki and would like to forward a request for desysoping of Petr_Tomasovsky (http://eo.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vikipediisto:Petr_Tomasovsky). The story: He repeatedly violated the rules of Wikpedia, both explicitly stated on the respective (translated) pages of our Wikipedia and those of common sense, the full description of his violations for last 2 months was prepared (via mailing list of sysops, in Esperanto) but not posted in the Wiki, taking into account his paramount contribution to the Esperanto-Wiki (the majority of the "Articles of the Week" were drafted by him). Briefly, in last 3 weeks there were violations of WP:NPA, WP:POINT, WP:CIVIL, WP:OWN, DICK (the exact description can be posted here and translated into English if needed). Instead, we (4 currently active sysops and 1 active user) wrote him a polite message (subscribed by 4 sysops, 1 beuarocrat and 1 active user), asking him to be more catious and friendly. The message can be found here: http://eo.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vikipediista_diskuto:Petr_Tomasovsky#Pri_via_uzado_de_administraj_rajtoj His reaction was unadequate, he started to blame on other sysops in Eo-Wiki with the assertions "Why don't you blame on them? You hate me that's why you blame on me". Finally he blocked himself for some time and after this blockade expired he added a request on the discussion page of the beaurocrat, where he asked for removal of his sysop status (here is the diff link: http://eo.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Vikipediista_diskuto:ArnoLagrange&diff=677459&oldid=676825 ) He wrote the following:

Maladministrado. Estimata sinjoro Lagrange, bonvolu senigi min de administraj rajtoj. Mi ne plu bezonos ilin. Adiaŭ Vikipedio kaj Esperanto. Petro 23. Jul 2006 19:27 (UTC)

Translation:

Removal of administrator status. Dear Mr Lagrange, please deprive me with administrator rights. I do not need them anymore. Farewell Wikipedia and Esperanto".

Should we vote for his desysoping or it is fine if we just proceed his request? What should we do? If you want to contact me, please, leave a message on my personal page in Esperanto-Wiki, http://eo.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vikipediista_diskuto:Alaŭdo Alaudo 18:56, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Temporary permissions for emergency or technical purposes

Cree Wikipedia

I found there's a lot of pages waiting almost 2 months for 'speedy deletion' here. I would like to clean this baby up, and would like to request a temporary adminhood for a period of one week to do so. A local request seems unnecessary, given that the last non-vandal edit (my own not included) is 4 weeks old. - Andre Engels 10:19, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Done -- sysophood granted for 2 weeks from now. oscar 10:42, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. Action completed, sysophood can be revoked again. - Andre Engels 11:12, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Done thanks go to you too :-) oscar 11:13, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
User:Ragib @ bn.wikibooks

I am an admin in English wikipedia (en:User:Ragib) and Bangla wikipedia (bn:ব্যবহারকারী:Ragib). I would like to request sysop status for Bangla wikibooks. I have already started working on translation of mediawiki text for bn wiki, and interwiking articles between bn and en wiki. I'd like to start on doing the same for bn wiki book too. --Ragib 22:52, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Ragib, as long as a community does not exist, we cannot grant a permanent sysop status to anyone. How about a temporary permission (one month?), in order to fix the MediaWiki intefrace? --Paginazero 09:35, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
That is fine by me. Could I have something like 6 weeks or so? There hasn't been any localisation work in the bn wikibooks, I need to complete it. Thanks. --Ragib 21:02, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Done - temporary sysophood until May 31st. Bye. --Paginazero 08:40, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I have localized about 30%-35% of the system messages so far. This is not a lot, I admit, but due to my time commitments in Bengali wikipedia and English wikipedia, I couldn't translate them all in wikibooks. So, could you please extend the temporary adminship in bn wikibooks for another two weeks? Thanks. --Ragib 21:29, 1 June 2006 (UTC) (from User talk:Paginazero)

Done - temporary sysophood until June 30st. Bye. --Paginazero 21:45, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Sinhala Wikipedia

I request sysop access on Sinhala Wikipedia.

  • Language Code: si
  • Local Request Link: none
  • Local User Page: si:User:Lee

Comment: Our Wikipedia is almost inactive except for two or three people. I need admin rights to make changes to the interface.

Thank you. - Rathne 03:29, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

You should start a vote and get the support of the community, then report here the link to the votation page. However, on a short term, if you just need to translate the interface in Sinhala, we can grant you a temporary adminship to give you the access to the system pages. How about one month? --Paginazero 06:37, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
OK, That would be fine. I'm not an expert in both MediaWiki and Wikipedia. Plus I won't be working 100% on the this project. So I will not be able to complete the entire work in that time. Anyway something is better than nothing. :-) Thanks for the support. - Rathne 14:07, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Done - temporary sysophood until June 30th. --Paginazero 14:16, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Sysophood expired yesterday. Given that actually the only permanent administrator of si.wiki, si:User:Chin, made no edits since last October, I'd leave User:Rathne/si:User:Lee as permanent administrator. I left a note in si:Wikipedia:කෝපි කඩේ to have some feedback from the community about this. --Paginazero 09:47, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
sd.wikipedia.org
  • I made w:sd:User:Aursani temporary sysop there. This appointment expires on 2006-06-31
    • He is the only active user there and likes to setup the wiki, translate stuff and so. If after 3 months there are no complains, this user was active and did not do to strange things as sysop or if there by then some other active users approve he can stay sysop. Check of he by then has discovered that you need to include licence information when uploading files. --Walter 14:34, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

At the moment there are no administrators in the pap Wikipedia. There are pages that have to be deleted and the interface has yet to be translated. I hereby request temporary adminship for the Papiamentu Wikipedia

Vietnamese Wikisource

I would like administrative privileges at the newly-created Vietnamese Wikisource (vi:). My username there is Mxn. I was granted admin status at the Multilingual Wikisource some time ago due to my knowledge of Vietnamese, and since the Vietnamese pages there are being moved to the Vietnamese Wikisource, I would like the ability to customize interface messages and delete pages as necessary. There aren't any admins or active contributors at the project yet, and there weren't any active contributors to Vietnamese-language pages at the Multilingual Wikisource, so there hasn't been a vote on my request yet. I'm also a admin at the Vietnamese Wikibooks and a bureaucrat at the Vietnamese Wikipedia and Wiktionary. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs) 22:24, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
