Celebrating Chatgaiya Culture and Heritage!
Chattogram Wikimedia Community, is a vibrant hub of knowledge enthusiasts dedicated to illuminating the world with the essence of Chattogram's rich cultural heritage, history, and contemporary significance. It is the first of the seven regional communities of Wikimedia Bangladesh, working to provide Wikimedia outreach support for the potential and expansion of the Wikimedia movement in Bangladesh. The community was formed on 14 July 2014 and approved by Wikimedia Bangladesh on 6 February 2016.
With over 2,500 years of history, Chattogram boasts a unique blend of traditions, landmarks, and stories waiting to be explored and documented. Our community unites passionate volunteers, researchers, educators, and cultural organizations to preserve this vibrant heritage through Wikimedia projects like Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikivoyage, Wikisource, Wikibooks, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikidata. Whether it’s documenting historical sites, traditional practices, or notable figures, we aim to showcase Chatgaiya legacy to the world.

- Content Creation: Our community of dedicated volunteers works tirelessly to curate and create high-quality Wikipedia articles that encapsulate the essence of Chattogram.
- Cultural Preservation: Preserving Chattogram's cultural heritage by documenting its festivals, traditions, art, language, and indigenous lifestyles, ensuring they are not lost to the sands of time.
- Collaboration and Outreach: Collaborate with educational and research institutions and experts to enhance the accuracy and depth of our content.
- Education and Empowerment: By working with Chattogram-related topics, our volunteers gain valuable skills in research, writing, and critical thinking. We also strive to make local knowledge accessible.
