Steward requests/Global permissions

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki
(Redirected from SRIPBE)
Shortcut:
SRGP
This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions

[edit]
Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i| 5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global rollback for ShifaYT

[edit]
The following request is closed. Please do not modify it. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
Not ending before 3 September 2024 14:22 UTC

Dear wikimedians, I am part of the SWMT since March 2023 and I am an active cross-wiki and local patroller. I use SWViewer to patrol. I have the local rollback right on frwiki (that was given to me by community approbation), wikidata and commons. I have read the global rollback policy with the local policies and my account is protected by the 2FA (since I am EFM on frwiki). I have done near 800/ reverts and 140/ deletions request on small wikis although what matters for me in the patrol is quality; I always try to apply good faith, I always set a reason in my reverts and I am open to any remarks, and I always try to progress in the good way and to learn from my mistakes. I was less active at the beginning of the year due to medical reasons and work/studies, but I resumed my regular activity from the last year since I have more time. I think I am ready for having the global rollback right from now, and that could help me in cross-wiki patrolling and this is why I would like to suggest my request to the community and see your opinions about it. Best regards, ShifaYT ✉Talk 14:22, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done Clear consensus, flag granted. @ShifaYT: Also remember to log out and in again on SWViewer so that it can recognize you as a GR. EPIC (talk) 15:32, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than two weeks (no exceptions are allowed no matter how obvious the result may seem). The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than two weeks (no exceptions are allowed no matter how obvious the result may seem). While all input is welcome, there is a hard 80% support requirement for this role as per the global renamer policy.

Global IP block exempt for ArvinTing

[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedia veterans, I am a Wikipedia editor from mainland China. Due to the firewall's IP restrictions, I have to use frequently changing IPs to access Wikipedia. I hope that I can pass the global IP exemption and do Wikipedia in each language. make some contributionArvinTing (talk) 16:44, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@ArvinTing is your primary problem with the English Wikipedia? They block most of the same proxies locally, and would require a local exemption. — xaosflux Talk 09:29, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As you can see, my IP was blocked when I used Wikipedia other than Chinese, because I applied for IP exemption for Chinese, and I cannot edit in any language except Chinese, so I came here to apply for IP global exemption, hoping that Wikipedia seniors will approve it. Il tuo indirizzo IP è in un intervallo che è stato bloccato su tutti i wiki della Wikimedia Foundation. Il blocco è stato eseguito da ‪EPIC‬. La motivazione fornita è Open proxy/Webhost: See the help page if you are affected. Inizio del blocco: 18:04, 30 apr 2024 Fine del blocco: 18:04, 30 apr 2025 Il tuo indirizzo IP attuale è 130.41.171.162. L'intervallo bloccato è 130.41.0.0/16.

Come mai sono stato bloccato? — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Paolo176 (talk) 14:04, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I assume that this is a request for global IP block exemption and not global rollback, so I modified the request slightly and moved it to this section. EPIC (talk) 18:20, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Is an inquiry, not a request. For help see WikiProject on open proxies/Help:blocked. — xaosflux Talk 09:46, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Global abuse filter helper for Codename Noreste

[edit]
Not ending before 6 September 2024 23:34 UTC

Hello, everyone. I am Codename Noreste and I'm an edit filter helper on the English Wikipedia. I have assisted with some Meta administrators (more specifically EPIC and SHB2000) to maintain some abuse filters that I created (344, 351, 354, 360, 362, 363, and more recently, 365), and with some other content projects' administrators and abuse filter editors when helping with filters (1292, 1308, and parts of 1319 on the English Wikipedia); I am also active in anti-vandalism/spam/LTA work, and I sometimes encounter private filter log entries in which I cannot view them (to identify if it's vandalism/spam or not). Having the global abuse filter helper right would also allow me to debug abuse filters and to troubleshoot any false positives.

I'm good with regular expressions and I understand the importance of not discussing private filters in public, I have fully read and understand the abuse filter helper page, and I have signed the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information (verify). Thank you for your consideration. Codename Noreste 🤔 Talk 23:34, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
