This page is for requesting CheckUser information on a wiki with no local CheckUsers (see also requesting checkuser access). Make sure to follow the following instructions, or your request may not be processed in a timely manner.

Before making a request:

  1. Make sure you have a good reason for the check. It will only be accepted to counter vandalism or disruption to Wikimedia wikis. Valid reasons include needing a block of the underlying IP or IP range, disruptive sockpuppetry, vote-stacking, and similar disruption where the technical evidence from running a check would prevent or reduce further disruption.
  2. Be specific in your reasons. Ambiguous or insufficient reasons will cause delays. Explain the disruption and why you believe the accounts are related, ideally using diff links or other evidence.
  3. Make sure there are no local checkusers.
  4. Please ensure that the check hasn't already been done:

Reason(s): Good day! I realize this might be an unusual situation, so please let me know if I'm reaching out through the wrong channel.

Mrshaxas has been harassing me on Telegram, as I detailed in the local discussion linked above. Beyond the harassment, there's a serious security concern: while he was messaging me on Telegram, he somehow discovered private groups I'm part of, joined them, and continued to harass me before being banned from all of them. More importantly, at the same time he attempted to breach my wiki account, for which I received a notification both on-wiki and via email.

Given the gravity of this behavior, I'm reporting it here based on the information provided on this enwiki page, which states, "In such cases, a global lock is preferred, as it stops disruption across all projects and preserves user information." The idea is that it would be helpful to have irrefutable evidence that it was him who tried to compromise my account. He's based in Uzbekistan while I'm in Canada. A checkuser analysis will most likely make it all crystal clear.

While he'll likely face a ban on uzwiki, a global ban may be warranted considering the egregious nature of his actions. P.S. In light of all this I finally set up two-factor authentication for my wiki account. Every cloud has a silver lining, I guess. Nataev talk 03:34, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Nataev: Hi, Nataev. As you probably know, this is a page where checkuser is used to uncover relationships between accounts to find evidence of abuse. While we can't handle it here, you can contact T&S to report it to them for their ToU violation, or you may try to get a global ban on it. However, as of now, they haven't been blocked anywhere, so I'd recommend contacting T&S about the harassment you've been experiencing. Reason(s): Requested by local admin, it was suspected that the similar "voting" behavior in featured picture nominations is a sign of sockpuppetry. In addition, the admin also pointed out that As Real As Real Name was not editing when there are no FPCs needed to be passed from A Chinese ID.
